7.1 The following requirements are established for the potable water availability request:
- a)Potable water service request form, duly completed by the property owner or a person authorized by them, which they shall verify through suitable documentation. The same must indicate the intended use for the service, for its respective classification.
- b)Suitable documentation proving ownership of the property where the service is to be provided. In the case of commercial companies, suitable documentation proving legal representation of said company.
- c)Municipal clearance (Visto bueno municipal) demonstrating being up to date in the payment of municipal fees and taxes.
- d)That the property (finca) has public access roads directly or by easement (servidumbre) and on which the distribution piping exists or can be installed if applicable.
- e)Copy of the cadastral plan endorsed by the Municipalidad de La Unión.
- f)Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
- g)Copy of the Land Use (Uso del Suelo) granted by the Municipalidad.
In the case of old constructions (three or more years old), with one or more occupancy units (unidades ocupacionales), the following requirements must be met:
1. Note requesting the installation of the service or additional services, per occupancy unit.
2. Suitable documentation proving ownership of the property where the service is to be provided.
3. Sworn Statement (Declaración Jurada) of the owner or legal representative indicating that the construction is more than three years built.
4. In the case of commercial companies, suitable documentation proving legal representation of said company.
5. Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
6. Present receipt showing payment of the installation fees.
For the purposes of a name transfer of the subscriber (abonado), the interested party must present the following documents:
- a)The new owner must fill out the form requesting the transfer of the corresponding service.
- b)Suitable documentation in which they prove to be the new owner of the property where the service is provided.
- c)Municipal clearance of being up to date in the payment of municipal fees and taxes, for the new owner and the previous one.
In cases of first-time installation, the documents must be submitted at the Services Platform (Plataforma de Servicios), for processing. The approval of the first-time installation shall be given by the Aqueduct Department, with the prior clearance of the Urbanism Directorate (Dirección de Urbanismo) (Land Use). Once approved, the established procedure in force shall be followed. For the purposes of the transfer to the user's name, the documentation shall be processed by the Municipal Cadastre Department (Departamento de Catastro Municipal), which shall determine the applicable course of action.
All requests shall be duly registered and conferred in chronological order when appropriate, and the adjustments shall be made in the departments indicated.
7.2. The following requirements are established for the installation of the potable water connection (paja de agua potable):
- a)The construction permit for a dwelling house or a building must be approved. A copy of the construction permit and the receipt of payment for the cancelled construction tax must be presented.
- b)Present the receipt showing payment of the installation fees.
All new connections (pajas) shall be installed with a water meter (hidrómetro) or with a meter box and supplement. Fixed connections (pajas fijas) shall only be installed when there are no water meters or meter protective boxes available.
