The following requirements are established for the installation of drinking water service for the first time:
- a)Application document for drinking water service, duly completed by the property owner or a person authorized by the owner, which they shall prove by means of a suitable document. The application must indicate the intended use to be given to the service, for its respective classification.
- b)Suitable document proving ownership of the property where the service is to be provided. In the case of commercial companies, a suitable document proving that they are the legal representative of said company.
- c)Municipal approval demonstrating that property taxes and municipal tributes are up to date.
- d)That the property (finca) has direct public road access or access by easement (servidumbre), and on which there exists or can be installed, if necessary, the distribution pipe.
- e)The construction permit for a dwelling house or a building must be approved. A copy of the construction permit and the paid receipt must be presented.
- f)Copy of the cadastral map endorsed by the Municipality of La Unión.
- g)Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
- h)Present receipt showing payment of Connection, Installation, and Security Deposit fees.
In the case of old constructions (five or more years old), with one or more occupancy units, the following requirements must be met:
1. Note requesting the installation of the service or additional services, per occupancy units.
2. Suitable document proving ownership of the property where the service is to be provided.
3. Document from the Municipal Inspection Department indicating that the work is more than five years old since construction.
4. In the case of commercial companies, a suitable document proving that they are the legal representative of said company.
5. Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
6. Present receipt showing payment of Connection, Installation, and Security Deposit fees.
For the purposes of a transfer of the subscriber's (abonado) name, the new subscriber (abonado) must present the following documents:
- a)The new owner must complete the form requesting the transfer of the corresponding service.
- b)Suitable document proving that they are the new owner of the property where the service is provided.
- c)Municipal approval that property taxes and municipal tributes are up to date, for the new owner and the previous one.
In cases of first-time installation, the documents must be submitted to the Service Platform (Plataforma de Servicios) for processing. The Aqueduct Department shall give approval for the first-time installation, subject to prior approval from the Dirección de Urbanismo (Land Use). Once approved, the established procedure in force shall be followed. For the purposes of transfer to the user's name, the documentation shall be processed by the Municipal Cadastre Department, which shall decide on the appropriate action.
All applications shall be duly registered and granted in chronological order when applicable and once adjustments have been made in the indicated departments.
