A- First license of the year:
· Payment of the fee corresponding to the Annual Registration of the vessel, equivalent to $20 per net registered ton. This may be done starting in December of the year prior to the one for which the tuna fishing license is sought, in which case the fee shall be $10 per net registered ton.
· Request for the fishing license by the Customs Agency or the legal representative of the vessel.
· Certification of ownership of the vessel.
· Authorisation authenticated by a lawyer from the owner or the legal representative of the Company owning the vessel, authorising the Customs Agency or natural person to carry out the fishing permit procedures for the vessel subject to the license.
· Original current identity card and provide a photocopy of both sides, or current residency card and provide a complete photocopy, of the authorised person.
· Provide a certificate from the Comisión Interamericana del Atún Tropical stating that the vessel is enrolled in the dolphin-safe tuna monitoring program.
· Provide a note from the ship's captain committing to respect the country's legislation and to respect everything concerning the protection of dolphins emanating from the Comisión Interamericana del Atún Tropical.
· Provide the ship captain's report on dolphin mortality from the previous trip.
· Certification of the vessel's tonnage measurement (arqueo) from the Dirección General de Transporte Marítimo of the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes stipulating the net registered tonnage, no more than 3 months old.
· Payment of the deposit in any Bank of the National Banking System for $54 per net registered tonnage.
· Payment of the respective fee.
B. Consecutive free extensions:
· Request from the owner or authorised representative.
· The requesting and authorised person must present a current identity card or residency card.
· Request to inspect the unloading from the fishing trip just completed, the report of which must state that the entirety of the catch has been unloaded, not less than 300 metric tons, for national canning companies. Vessels with a smaller carrying capacity in accordance with Article No. 68 of Law No. 6267 are exempt from this product volume.
· Payment of the respective fee.
C. License by registration:
· Payment of the fee corresponding to the vessel's annual registration, equivalent to $20 per net registered ton. This may be done starting in December of the year prior to the one for which the tuna fishing license is sought, in which case the fee shall be $10 per net registered ton.

· Unloading request, whose report states that the entirety of the product has been unloaded, more than 300 metric tons, to national canning companies.

· Authorisation authenticated by a lawyer, from the owner or the legal representative of the company owning the vessel, authorising the customs agency or natural person to carry out the fishing permit procedures for the vessel subject to the license.
· Original current identity card and provide a photocopy of both sides, or current residency card and provide a complete photocopy, of the authorised person.
