For the purposes of this Regulation, the following shall be understood as:
a. Conformity Act (Acta de conformidad): It is the declaration signed by the owner possessor, or by their legal representative in which they express their conformity with the cadastral data referring to their immovable property (inmueble).
b. Boundary Demarcation and Identification Act (Acta de deslinde e identificación): It is the act drafted by an official of the National Cadastre or by the professional authorized by Law for the Practice of Surveying (Ejercicio de la Agrimensura), on the land itself, in accordance with the formalities established in this Regulation and related laws. Said act, moreover, shall be signed by the owner or possessor, or by their legal representative, recording that they accept the data referring to the location and boundaries of their immovable property, which appear therein.
c. Concessionaire: Natural or legal person holding a concession right.
d. Reconciliation of information (Conciliación de información): It is the verification of the conformity of boundaries and infrastructures of a registered property (finca) on a plan, in relation to the corresponding registration in the Public Real Property Registry.
e. Body of the survey plan (Cuerpo del plano de agrimensura): The body of the plan is the free-format space for drawing the surveyed polygon, the localization, the location, the allotment or subdivision (lotificación o fraccionamiento), the site design, the north point, and the necessary technical notes.
f. General Directorate: General Directorate shall be understood as the General Directorate of the National Registry.
g. Directorate: Directorate shall be understood as the immediate Hierarchical Superior of the National Cadastre.
h. Conceptual error: A conceptual error shall be understood to have been committed when the Registrar alters or varies the true meaning of the concepts contained in the plan being registered, due to an erroneous qualification.
i. Material error: A material error shall be understood to have been committed when, without intention, some words are written for others, the expression of any formal circumstance of the registration is omitted, or quantities or information are mistaken when copying them from the plan, without thereby changing the general sense of the registration in question, nor that of any of its concepts.
j. Public Faith (Fe pública): It is the authority granted by Article 12 of Law No. 4294, Law for the Practice of Topography and Surveying (Ley para el Ejercicio de la Topografía y la Agrimensura) of December 19, 1968, to persons authorized to practice topography or surveying in the exercise of their function as surveyors.
k. Property (Finca): It is the immovable property registered in the Real Property Registry (Registro Inmobiliario), as a legal unit.
l. Unique property identifier (Identificador único de inmueble): The property number is formed by several characters, which in their order shall indicate: the province number, the canton number, the district number, and the identification of the immovable property in the district. When the boundary demarcation of an immovable property on the cadastral map corresponds to a property, the characters of the identification of the immovable property in the district shall be composed of the designation that the property has in the Real Property Registry.
m. Immovable Property (Inmueble): It is the physical unit registered or not in the Real Property Registry.
n. Board (Junta): Board shall be understood as the Administrative Board of the National Registry (Junta Administrativa del Registro Nacional).
o. Ministry: Ministry shall be understood as the Ministry of Justice.
p. Cadastral plan (Plano catastrado): It is the survey plan, physical or in electronic format, that has been registered in the National Cadastre, and its effects shall be defined in this Regulation.

Survey plan (Plano de agrimensura): It is the plan, physical or in electronic format, that represents in graphic and mathematical form an immovable property, which complies with the rules established in this Regulation.
(Thus amended the preceding subsection by Article 1 of Executive Decree No. 34763 of September 16, 2008) r. Possessor: It is the natural or legal person who lacks a registered or registrable title in the Real Property Registry and whose possession is held as owner.
s. Owner: It is the natural or legal person who has their right over an immovable property duly registered in the Real Property Registry.
t. Surveyor's protocol (Protocolo del agrimensor): It is the set of documents where the survey and topography works, carried out by the professional authorized by law, are recorded.
u. Real Property Registry (Registro inmobiliario): The union of information contained in the Public Registry of Immovable Property (Registro Público de Bienes Inmuebles) and the National Cadastre.
v. Subdirectorate: Subdirectorate shall be understood as the Subdirector of the cadastral area.
w. Cadastral Zone (Zona catastrada): It is that part of the national territory where the cadastral survey has been concluded and made official.
x. Cadastral Area (Zona catastral): It is that part of the national territory in which the cadastral survey is in process.
