In accordance with Law No. 8220, on Protection of the Citizen from Excessive Requirements and Administrative Procedures and its Regulation, the following requirements are established for the granting of potable water service for the first time, proceedings that will be carried out at the Service Platform (Plataforma de Servicios).
- a)The owner of the property or the person legally authorized to do so must fill out the application for availability (disponibilidad) and application for potable water service issued by the Department of Aqueduct; in which the purpose to be given to the service must be indicated, for its respective classification.
- b)Suitable document proving ownership of the property where the service will be located, or being authorized to dispose of it. In the case of commercial companies, a suitable document proving legal representation of said company.
- c)Document proving being current in the payment of municipal fees and levies, which the Department of Aqueduct will process and attach to the application.
- d)That the farm (finca) has public access roads directly or by easement (servidumbre), on which the distribution network exists or can be installed, if applicable. If access to the lot is not a public road, the water connection (paja de agua) will be installed up to where it reaches. If the public network does not reach the property in question, the owner may extend the pipe according to the technical requirements indicated by the Department of Aqueduct.
- e)Copy of the construction permit and paid receipt. For the granting of water service, the construction permit approved by the Directorate of Urban Development (Dirección de Desarrollo Urbano) must be obtained, so that it is in accordance with the current Zoning Regulation of the Regulatory Plan of Valverde Vega (Reglamento de Zonificación del Plan Regulador de Valverde Vega) and its amendments.
- f)Copy of the Cadastral Plan.
- g)Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
- h)Having complied, the interested party, with the requirements and paid the corresponding amount for a new connection, qualified and authorized personnel will have a period of 8 business days to make the respective connection.
- i)In the case of old constructions, with more than one occupancy unit (unidad ocupacional), the following requirements must be met:
1. Note requesting the installation of additional water services, per occupancy units (unidades de ocupación).
2. Suitable document proving ownership of the property in which the service is to be provided. In the case of commercial companies, a suitable document proving legal representation of said company.
3. Copy of the identity card of the owner or legal representative of the company.
4. Document proving being current in the payment of municipal fees and levies, which the Department of Aqueduct will process and attach to the application.
- j)For the purposes of a transfer of the subscriber's name, the new subscriber must present the following documents:
1. Note requesting the transfer of the corresponding service.
2. Suitable document proving being the new owner of the property on which the service will be provided.
3. Suitable document proving being current in the payment of municipal fees and levies, for the new owner and the previous owner. Processed through the Department of Aqueduct before the corresponding municipal office.
The Department of Aqueduct will have five business days to declare the water service availability (disponibilidad) and will give approval for the installation with the approval of the Department of Urban Development (Departamento de Desarrollo Urbano).
Once approved, the established procedure will be followed. For the purposes of the transfer, the documentation will be presented to the Department of Real Estate (Departamento de Bienes Inmuebles), where the appropriate action will be determined.
All applications will be duly registered and conferred in chronological order, when applicable, and adjustments will be made in the indicated departments. In addition, the Department of Aqueduct will prepare a file, which meets the requirements according to the existing legality framework.
