Guide for weighing waste:
1. The objective of weighing solid waste is to estimate the amount of waste generated per month, according to the new rate scale. It is necessary for the user to weigh the solid waste generated during the seven consecutive days of a full week: Monday through Sunday.
2. To carry out the weighing, it is recommended to use the following tools: safety equipment (gloves, protective glasses, and masks), a steelyard or scale (hook or platform type) with a minimum capacity of 0 to 50 kg, pencil or pen, weighing form, and calculator.
3. The user must complete the table called "Weighing of solid waste per day". In this table, the weights obtained from each of the bags, boxes, sacks, and others containing the waste generated that day must be written. The spaces provided are for writing the weight in kilograms. In the event that the spaces are not sufficient, the back of the form or an additional sheet may be used. At the end of the weighing week, the amounts obtained per day must be added to obtain a weekly total in kilograms. Then, this last obtained total weekly figure must be multiplied by 4.33 weeks (which equals one month), which is the billing period for the collection rate. This will yield an estimate of the user's generation per month in kilograms (kg).
4. At the end of the form, the name of the person responsible for the weighing, identity card number, and the corresponding signature must be written.
5. The request, sworn declaration, and the weighing form must be delivered to the respective municipal official, who shall have a period of 30 days to resolve the submitted request.
