The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (Procuraduría General de la República) is empowered to establish the necessary boundary demarcation (deslinde) proceedings for the Maritime Mile strip referred to in this article and to subsequently manage its formal registration in the Public Registry in the name of the State, so that the corresponding transfer to the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (Instituto Costarricense de Turismo) may be carried out, exempt from all fees and duties.
The boundary demarcation (deslinde), delimitation, and registration proceedings may be done in parts or sections, all in accordance with the provisions of this law.
Regarding productive properties and while the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (Instituto Costarricense de Turismo) does not consider their subdivision (aparcamiento) necessary, the existing status shall be maintained, with the exception that the usufruct of the leases shall be for the benefit of said Institute, which shall set the corresponding fee for the purposes determined by this law. No lease contract may be transferred without the approval of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (Instituto Costarricense de Turismo).
