Not included within this definition are cleared forests (bosques socolados), or heavily intervened forests where a space is opened that allows the establishment of forage or agronomic species. Among others, agroforestry systems are considered to be windbreaks, pastures with planted trees or trees from natural regeneration provided that the latter were established after the crop, shade trees for permanent crops, and trees in fences.
10.-That the species below are technically justified as being the species of greatest forest production at the national level that are used in forest plantations or in agroforestry systems combined with agronomic species. Furthermore, these species possess high natural regeneration in pasture areas, shrublands (chárrales), and agricultural production sites; therefore, the establishment and promotion of these forest species offers forest and industrial development alternatives for small and medium producers for the national market in the Osa Conservation Area. Therefore, THE DIRECTORA OF THE OSA CONSERVATION AREA, RESOLVES:
TO MODIFY THE DIRECTIVE ISSUED ON MARCH 14, 2003, IN LA GACETA NO. 52
