"Article 6º-Any foreign-flagged tuna vessel interested in obtaining a fishing license or permit must pay the sum of $54.00 (dollars) per net registered ton. The license or permit shall be valid for one fishing trip, for up to sixty calendar days counted from the date of obtaining the license or until the unloading in any country of any quantity of the product obtained.
The annual registration fee for fishing vessels equipped with nets, the so-called 'chinchorreros', shall be $10.00 (dollars) per net registered ton of the vessel, and must be purchased during the month of December for the immediately following year.
In the event that it is requested during the same year in which it is to be used, said fee shall be $20.00 (dollars) per net registered ton of the vessel, and its validity shall be exclusively for the remainder of the calendar year in which it is granted.
The monetary product obtained from the indicated items shall be collected and applied by the Instituto Costarricense de la Pesca y Acuicultura, as stipulated in Article 51 of Law Nº 8436.
In addition to the fees defined above, the aforementioned tuna vessels must pay the sum of $10.00 (dollars) per net registered ton of the vessel, which shall be destined to address the monitoring of conservation and preservation policies for the tuna resource, before the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC). The Instituto Costarricense de la Pesca y Acuicultura, through the corresponding procedures, in the months of March and September of each year, shall carry out the actions to apply the product obtained from this item to the payment of the country quota, before the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, by means of transfer and deposit into the account of the Interamerican Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC), which shall have that specific and sole purpose." mso-bidi-font-size:10pt!important!important;font-family:Verdana!important; mso-fareast-font-family:"Verdana";mso-ansi-language:ES;mso-fareast-language: ES;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA'>
