- a)Traditional garbage: Solid waste traditionally generated, including paper, cardboard, plastic, organic food waste, which is the result of the daily activities of different housing units, license holders (patentados), and state public or non-public entities that are not private.
- b)Category: The classification of a taxpayer according to the estimated waste they generate per week.
- c)Waste: Traditional garbage.
- d)Bulky waste (desechos voluminosos): All waste resulting from the cleaning of green areas, branches, trunks, weeds, metal scrap, household appliances, furniture, remodeling waste, debris (escombros), construction waste: formwork wood, metal sheets, rebar, and others, which can be considered inert.
- e)Special waste (desechos especiales): Those indicated in Article 6º, of Chapter II, of the Regulation on Garbage Management, according to Decreto Nº 19049-S, of July 7, 1989. These include pathogenic, toxic, combustible, flammable, explosive, chemical, radioactive waste, and any other requiring special management due to its condition.
- f)Generation factor (factor de generación): The range in which a user is placed depending on the estimated amount of garbage produced per week, based on the estimated garbage generation for a housing unit.
- g)Weighting factor (factor de ponderación): Equivalent units according to the garbage generation of a specific location, based on the estimated garbage generation for a housing unit.
- h)Municipality: Municipality of Garabito.
- i)Recycling: Reuse of solid waste, whether previously treated or not.
- j)Collection service (servicio de recolección): Solid waste transportation service, traditional garbage collection.
- k)Final disposal service (servicio de disposición final): Waste management service at the sanitary landfill (relleno sanitario), which can be for traditional waste or bulky waste.
- l)Rate for traditional waste collection and final disposal services by category (tasa de los servicios de recolección y disposición final de desechos tradicionales por categoría): Charge to the taxpayer in proportion to the estimated amount of waste generated per week.
- m)Artisanal factory (fábrica artesanal): Any place where some generation process takes place and where fewer than 1 to 3 employees work.
- n)Small, medium, and large factories (fábricas pequeñas, medianas y grandes): Any place where some generation process takes place and where 4 or more employees work.
- o)Artisanal workshop (taller artesanal): Any place where some repair, reconstruction, or restoration process takes place, and where fewer than 3 employees work.
- p)Medium and large workshops (talleres medianos y grandes): Any place where some repair, reconstruction, or restoration process takes place, and where 3 or more employees work.
