It previously indicated: "May 3, 1992") The Guaymí de Conteburica Indigenous Reserve is located on the cartographic sheets of the National Geographic Institute, Scale 1:50,000 Pavón 3541-II, Río Caña Blanca 3540, and Puerto Armuelles 3640 IV.

The Guaymí de Conteburica Indigenous Reserve is delimited by the following coordinate points:

From this last point, the boundary of the reserve follows downstream along Quebrada Honda, to the coordinate point N 261 600 E 564 600.

From there, a straight line to the coordinate point N 261 425 E 565 300, it continues along the watershed divide (fila divisoria de aguas) of the left branch of the Río Conte and of Quebrada Honda, to the coordinate point N 262 850 E 566 350. From this point, it continues to the coordinate point N 263 475 E 566 200, a point which takes the spring (naciente) of a small tributary of the Río Conte, unnamed on the respective cartographic sheet. The boundary line follows downstream along this tributary, to its confluence with the Río Conte, at the coordinate point N 264 035 E 567 300. It continues downstream along the Río Conte, to its confluence with a tributary at coordinates N 264 475 E 567 800. From this last point, it follows the coordinate points:

It previously indicated: " N 262 725 E 569 250" and "N 262 500 E 569 750") From this last point, the boundary of the reserve continues to the coordinate point N 262 250 E 570 250(*). A point that intersects the spring (naciente) of a small stream (quebrada) drawn on the map by contour lines. The boundary line follows downstream along this stream, to its confluence with Quebrada Vueltas, at the coordinate point N 260 770 E 570 850(*).

It previously indicated: " N 262 050 E 569 975" and "N 260 770 E 670 E 670 850") The boundary continues downstream along the stream (quebrada) to its junction with the Río La Vaca, at coordinates N 260 550 E 570 920. From there it follows straight lines, passing through the coordinate points:

From this point, it follows the border boundary between Costa Rica and Panama, indicated(*) on the corresponding cartographic sheets, which takes a bearing.

It previously indicated: "señalando") Southwest of this last point and later Southeast, to the coordinate point N 247 250 E 578 950 ( Panama border). From there it follows the coordinate points:

The Reserve continues with its boundary downstream along Quebrada La Peñita, to the coordinate point N 245 340 E 577 545. Point where a tributary of Quebrada La Peñita flows into it.

From this last point, it continues through the coordinate points:

From this point, the boundary line runs along the coastline in a Northwest direction, to the point of origin of this description, at coordinates N 254 850 E 560 450.

*(SINALEVI NOTE: By means of this article, Article 1° of Executive Decree N° 13545 of April 26, 1982, is amended; however, by reason of the matter reformed and the information provided by the Ministry of Governance and Police, the reform corresponds to Article 2°).

N° 92 of May 13, 1982, amend Article 4° of Executive Decree N° 13545-G so that henceforth it reads as follows:

The Guaymí language is recognized as the local language of the Guaymí reserves: Conteburica, Osa, Coto Brus, and Abrojo Montezuma.

The National Commission for Indigenous Affairs CONAI shall coordinate with the Institute of Rural Development INDER(*), the preparation of the map of the Conteburica Indigenous Reserve according to the coordinates defined in Article 1° of this decree, with the understanding that the INDER(*) shall carry out the respective procedures for the cadastral registration of these maps and the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, through the State Notary and the National Cadastre, shall proceed with the registration of the Guaymí de Conteburica Indigenous Reserve respectively, in the National Property Registry.

La Reserva Indígena Guaymí de Conteburica se delimita por los puntos de coordenadas siguientes:

De este último punto, el límite de la reserva toma aguas abajo por la quebrada Honda, hasta el punto de coordenadas N 261 600 E 564 600.

De ahí una recta al punto d coordenadas N 261 425 E 565 300, Se continúa por la fila divisoria de aguas del brazo izquierdo del Río Conte y de la Quebrada Honda, hasta el punto de coordenadas N 262 850 E 566 350. De este punto se continúa al punto de coordenadas N 263 475 E 566 200, punto que toma la naciente de un pequeño afluente del río Conte, sin nombre en la hoja Cartográfica respectiva. El lindero sigue aguas abajo por este afluente, hasta su confluencia con e Río Conte, en el punto de coordenadas N 264 035 E 567 300. Se continúa aguas abajo por el Río Conte, hasta su confluencia con un afluente en coordenadas N 264 475 E 567 800. De este último punto, se sigue por los puntos de coordenadas:

Anteriormente se indicaba: " N 262 725 E 569 250" y "N 262 500 E 569 750") A partir de este último punto, el límite de la reserva continúa al punto de coordenadas N 262 250 E 570 250(*). Punto que interseca la naciente de una pequeña quebrada dibujada en el mapa por curvas de nivel. El lindero sigue aguas abajo por esta quebrada, hasta su confluencia con la quebrada Vueltas, en el punto de coordenadas N 260 770 E 570 850(*).

Anteriormente se indicaba: " N 262 050 E 569 975" y "N 260 770 E 670 E 670 850") Continúa el límite aguas abajo por la quebrada hasta la unión de ésta con el Río La Vaca, en coordenadas N 260 550 E 570 920. De ahí se sigue por rectas, pasando por los puntos de coordenadas:

A partir de este punto, se sigue por el límite fronterizo entre Costa Rica y Panamá, señalado(*) en las hojas cartográficas correspondientes el cual toma rumbo.

Anteriormente se indicaba: "señalando") Sur Oeste de este último punto y después Sur Este, hasta el punto de coordenadas N 247 250 E 578 950 ( frontera de Panamá). De ahí se sigue por los puntos de coordenadas:

La Reserva continúa con su límite aguas abajo por la quebrada La Peñita, hasta el punto de coordenadas N 245 340 E 577 545. Punto en donde desemboca un afluente de la quebrada La Peñita.

De este último punto, se continúa por los puntos de coordenadas:

De este punto, el lindero corre por la línea de costa en sentido Noroeste, hasta el punto de origen de la presente descripción, en coordenadas N 254 850 E 560 450.

*(NOTA DE SINALEVI: Mediante el presente artículo, se modifica el artículo 1° del decreto ejecutivo N° 13545 del 26 de abril de 1982, no obstante, en razón de la materia reformada y la información suministrada por el Ministerio de Gobernación y Policía, la reforma corresponde al artículo 2°).

N° 92 de fecha 13 de mayo 1982, modifíquese el artículo 4° del Decreto Ejecutivo N° 13545-G para que en adelante se lea así:

El idioma Guaymí se reconoce como idioma local de las reservas Guaymíes: Conteburica, Osa, Coto Brus, y Abrojo Montezuma.

La Comisión Nacional de Asuntos Indígenas CONAI coordinará con el Instituto de Desarrollo Agrario INDER(*), la elaboración del plano de la Reserva Indígena de Conteburica conforme a las coordenadas definidas en el artículo 1° del presente decreto, teniéndose que el INDER(*), realizará los trámites respectivos para el catastrado de estos planos y la Procuraduría General de la República a través de la notaría del Estado y el Catastro Nacional, procederán a la inscripción de la Reserva Indígena Guaymí de Conteburica respectivamente, en el Registro Nacional de la Propiedad.
