This law aims to create the regulatory framework to regulate shrimp aquaculture and salt production within the Natural State Heritage (Patrimonio Natural del Estado, hereinafter PNE), with the purpose of harmonizing this activity with appropriate technical and scientific advances and procedures for the sustainable use of hydrobiological and mineral resources in mangrove areas.
This law also aims to incentivize and standardize the production of salt and farmed shrimp, developed by small and medium-sized producers in coastal communities of the country, organized under an associative scheme or individually, with a view to ensuring a sustainable use of the resources.
