Se fundamenta en la Directriz Presidencial 021-P, el artículo 50 constitucional, los principios precautorio y preventivo, y el enfoque ecosistémico. Impone la instalación de dispositivos de control satelital en las embarcaciones y establece sanciones según la Ley de Pesca y Acuicultura. Incorpora anexos cartográficos verificados por el Instituto Geográfico Nacional y reconoce la necesidad de investigación futura. Fue derogado por el acuerdo AJDIP/474-2017.

Transitory III.-This agreement does not affect the scope of Constitutional Court Ruling 2013-10540, regarding the declaration of unconstitutionality of shrimp trawling.Considerando: 2º-Que el artículo 50 de la Constitución Política, en concordancia con los principios precautorio y preventivo, así como el principio de acceso democrático a los recursos pesqueros, determina que es obligación del Estado Costarricense, adoptar las medidas necesarias tendientes a proteger los recursos pesqueros y garantizar el desarrollo sostenible de la actividad pesquera, mediante la realización de prácticas de pesca responsable en concordancia con el enfoque eco sistémico de la actividad (EEP). Por tanto; ACUERDA: Artículo 1º-Establecer el alejamiento obligatorio de acuerdo a la batimetría establecida en el mapa de zonificación participativa, a lo largo de la Costa Pacífica para la operación de la flota semi-industrial camaronera en el litoral de la Costa del Océano Pacífico y establecer los espacios marinos con recurso disponible para aprovechamiento sostenible de camarón para la flota pesquera comercial pequeña escala, en el litoral Caribe, según se detalla en los mapas de zonificación adjuntos, anexo 1 y 2. Transitorio III.-El presente acuerdo no afecta los alcances del Voto de la Sala Constitucional 2013-10540, sobre la declaratoria de inconstitucionalidad de la pesca de arrastre de camarón.
