Communal Areas: Those destined for public use, apart from streets and roads, for educational, health, worship, recreation, security, charity, and similar purposes.
CFIA: Federated College of Engineers and Architects of Costa Rica.
Municipality: State legal entity with territorial jurisdiction over a canton. The head town of the canton is the seat of the Municipal government. It is responsible for the administration of local services and interests, in order to promote the integral development of the cantons in harmony with national development.
Municipality of Esparza: Legal entity that administers the services and interests within the jurisdiction of the Canton of Esparza.
Subdivision (Fraccionamiento): Division of any property for the purpose of selling, transferring, negotiating, distributing, exploiting, or using separately the resulting parcels; it includes both judicial and extrajudicial adjudication partitions, localizations of undivided rights, and mere segregations held by the same owner, as well as those located in developments (urbanizaciones) or new constructions that are relevant to the control of the formation and urban use of real estate.
Development (Urbanización): Subdivision (fraccionamiento) and habilitation of land for urban purposes, through the opening of streets and provision of services such as electricity, potable water, sewerage, and garbage collection.
Green Zones: Free lands, considered as such in urban planning, whose area is unbuildable.
