- Volunteer (Voluntario): refers to the natural person who, voluntarily and without financial remuneration, collaborates with the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), supporting the actions developed by SINAC personnel, both in Protected Wild Areas (ASP) and in the rest of the administrative offices of SINAC.
- Food (Alimentación): refers to the food that the volunteer requires daily during their stay in the ASP.
- Lodging (Hospedaje): refers to the service and facilities where the volunteer will spend the night during their stay within the ASP.
- Transport (Transporte): refers to the transfer of volunteers in official vehicles, whenever required and with the respective permit, according to resolution number R-184-2006-MINAE published in La Gaceta No. 172 of September 7, 2006.
- Necessary conditions offered by SINAC for the volunteer's stay within the ASP: refers to having lodging, a hygiene area, work equipment, identification, work instructions, and transport when required.
- Basic accident insurance policy (Póliza básica de accidentes): insurance policy that includes assistance for illness, accidents, and other risks.
