a. Traditional trash (Basura tradicional): Solid waste traditionally generated, including paper, cardboard, plastic, food, and organic waste, which is the result of daily activities of different housing units (unidades habitacionales), licensees (patentados), and state public or non-public entities that are not private.
b. Category (Categoría): Classification of a taxpayer according to the estimated amount of trash generated per week.
c. Waste (Desechos): Traditional trash.
d. Bulky waste (Desechos voluminosos): All waste resulting from green area cleaning, branches, trunks, weeds, scrap metal, household appliances, furniture, remodeling waste, rubble (escombros), construction waste, formwork lumber, metal sheets, rebar, and others, which can be considered inert.
e. Special waste (Desechos especiales): All those indicated in Article No. 6, of Chapter II, of the Regulation on waste management (Reglamento sobre manejo de basuras), according to Decree No. 19049-S, of July 7, 1989. These include pathogenic, toxic, combustible, flammable, management due to its condition.
f. Generation factor (Factor de generación): The range within which a user is placed depending on the estimated amount of waste produced per week, based on the estimated waste generation for a housing unit.
g. Weighting factor (Factor de ponderación): Equivalent units according to the waste generation of a given place, based on the estimated waste generation for a housing unit.
h. Municipality (Municipalidad): Municipality of Orotina.
i. Collection service (Servicio de recolección): Transportation service for solid waste, traditional trash collection.
j. Final disposal service (Servicio de disposición final): Waste management service at the sanitary landfill (relleno sanitario), which can be for traditional waste or bulky waste.
k. Rate for collection and final disposal services for traditional waste by category (Tasa de los servicios de recolección y disposición final de desechos tradicionales por categoría): Charge to the taxpayer in proportion to the estimated amount of waste generated per week.
