26771-J of March 18, 1998), on the Distribution, Duties, and Powers of the Units of the Legal Entities Directorate, Articles 16 and 17, the numbering of those two articles and the following ones being required to be shifted, so that henceforth the new articles shall read as follows:
"Article 16.—The Deputy Directorate. In addition to the powers that this Regulation and other laws assign to it, the responsibilities of this Deputy Directorate are:
- a)To order or deny the registration (inscripción) of documents subject to registration, and to resolve petitions (ocursos) and administrative procedures, in accordance with the law.
- b)To execute the provisions agreed upon by the Directorate for the proper service of the Registry.
- c)To attend to and resolve verbal and written inquiries presented to it by its superiors, subordinates, and the general public, and to provide advisory services in its area of specialty.
- d)To supervise and control that the documents prepared and processed in its unit under its responsibility are drafted accurately.
- e)Any others delegated or assigned to it by the Director of this Registry.
- f)To substitute for the Director in his absence." "Article 17.—On Registry Coordination.—In addition to the powers that this Regulation and other laws assign to it, the responsibilities of the Registry Coordinator are:
- a)To periodically coordinate and review, together with the Heads of Registrars, the functioning of the Departments under their charge.
- b)To assist the Director in the preparation of registry-related plans and projects.
- c)To control the document registration (Registración) function carried out by the officials of the Registry.
- d)To attend to and resolve verbal and written inquiries presented to it by its superiors, subordinates, and the general public, and to provide advisory services in its area of specialty.
- e)To authorize the joint registration (inscripción) of documents that, in accordance with the law and under their criteria and responsibility, are requested of them. f) Any others assigned to them.
