- a)Participating in the formulation of the Government's economic policy and in national planning, in its areas of competence.
- b)Being the governing body of public State policies regarding the promotion of private initiative, business development, and the promotion of a business culture for the industry, commerce, and services sectors, as well as for the small and medium-sized enterprise sector.
- c)Coordinating the conformity assessment and market surveillance activities carried out by national authorities, the preparation of technical regulations, and the promotion of the international food standards of the Codex Alimentarius. By virtue of the foregoing, the MEIC shall have a functional organizational structure, specialized in the area of technical regulation and market surveillance.
(Thus added the preceding subsection by Article 82 of the Law of the National Quality System, No. 10473 of April 24, 2024) d) Advising, articulating, and guiding public and private entities related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, in order to facilitate conditions for the creation, development, and expansion of ventures.
(Thus added the preceding subsection by Article 4 of the Law to promote the entrepreneurial person, No. 10670 of March 25, 2025) e) Making available, publishing, and disseminating the requirements and procedures that entrepreneurial persons must complete to achieve their formalization, in a simple, clear, and timely language format, as well as information on public credit funds, guarantees, training, technical assistance, or others they can access, as registered entrepreneurial persons. This information must be published by public institutions with competences related to entrepreneurship on their web pages, on their social networks, and in any other nationally-reaching communication medium.
