- q)Donate to the Ministry of Public Education (Ministerio de Educación Pública, MEP), for the construction of furniture, repair of infrastructure in public schools and high schools, or for use in woodworking, lathe work, carpentry, and other subjects, the confiscated wood, once the conviction is final and the wood has not been awarded at auction nor requested by any person meeting the legal requirements.
Likewise, it shall donate timber that comes into the possession of the Forestry Administration as a result of natural disasters or road widening, when the legitimate owners are unknown.
The boards of education and the administrative boards that request it from the Ministry of Public Education may receive said timber as a donation. The procedure for submitting the request to the Ministry of Public Education and its respective processing shall be established by regulation.
The boards of education and the administrative boards may sell the timber received as a donation, abiding by the principles set forth in articles 4, 5, and 6 of the Administrative Contracting Law, Law 7494, of May 2, 1995. The funds obtained from the sale of said resource shall be invested exclusively to cover the needs of the respective educational center and shall be recorded in the corresponding budget.
