throughout the text - Full Text Standard 250 Amendment Creation of the Costa de Pájaros Responsible Fishing Marine Area and its Operation Plan Full Text Record: 10611A COSTA RICAN INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE AJDIP/250-2015.—Puntarenas, on the twenty-sixth day of the month of June of two thousand fifteen.

1That in extraordinary session number 31-2004 of the Board of Directors of INCOPESCA, held on 05-30-2014, AJDIP-182-2014 was approved, by means of which the Creation of the Costa de Pájaros Responsible Fishing Marine Area and its Management Plan is enacted.
2That in Agreement 1 of said accord, the terms and conditions of how this area will function are established, one of these being the map of the proposed zoning area and its corresponding coordinates.
3That in the northern part of this area, precisely at point 1 on the map, a coordinate on the landward side was not established, and therefore it is not known how far the responsible fishing marine area extends.
4That in the area adjacent to the Costa de Pájaros Responsible Fishing Marine Area (AMPR), precisely on the northern side, there is a small zone in which ray deaths have been reported, caused by a small group of fishers who are using an illegal gear, the encircling trammel net (trasmallo de cerco), with which, by sweeping the bottom, they capture rays, which then appear dead on the beach.
5That the encircling trammel net (trasmallo de cerco) is directed at shrimp fishing, with which they manage to concentrate this crustacean by sweeping the sea floor and then capturing it in large quantities, while the fishers who use the legal trammel net (trasmallo), in front of this area, do not have access to this resource.
6That on Friday, June 19 of the current year, a meeting was held in the Meeting Hall of the Association of Women of Costa de Pájaros, one of the objectives of said meeting being the definition of the exact landward point where the Responsible Fishing Marine Area will end. Twenty-five fishers participated, along with Mr. Elías Gutiérrez representing INCOPESCA, José L. Paredes, Port Captain of Puntarenas, Francisco Pizarro from the BID-GOLFOS Project, and Mr. Yeudy Peraza, from the company that will install the buoys. It was defined that the coordinates of the point in question are 10°06'32" north latitude and 85°00' 19" west longitude.

7º—Having heard the proposal put forward by Director Elías Gutiérrez Aragón, regarding which he states it was prepared by mutual agreement with the Technical Director General, the Board of Directors, Therefore, AGREES:

1—To modify article 1 of AJDIP-182-2014, to establish geographic point number 1.1 in the northern part of the Costa de Pájaros AMPR, which corresponds to the following coordinates: 10°06'32" north latitude and 85°00'19" west longitude, by which a landward point is established in the northern part of said area, and at the same time the illegal capture of rays and shrimp with the illegal encircling trammel net (trasmallo de cerco) gear will be prevented. Considering:

en la totalidad del texto - Texto Completo Norma 250 Reforma Creación del Área Marina de Pesca Responsable de Costa de Pájaros y su Plan de operación Texto Completo acta: 10611A INSTITUTO COSTARRICENSE DE PESCA Y ACUICULTURA AJDIP/250-2015.-Puntarenas, a los veintiséis días del mes de junio de dos mil quince.

1Que en la sesión extraordinaria de la Junta Directiva del INCOPESCA número 31-2004, realizada el día 30-05-2014, se aprobó el AJDIP-182-2014, mediante el cual se da la Creación del Área Marina de Pesca Responsable de Costa de Pájaros y su Plan de Ordenación.
2Que en Acuerdo 1 de dicho acuerdo, se establecen los términos y condiciones de como funcionara esta área, siendo uno de estos el mapa del área propuesta de zonificación y sus correspondientes coordenadas.
3Que en la parte norte de esta área, precisamente en el punto 1 del mapa, no se estableció una coordenada en la parte terrestre, por lo que no se conoce hasta donde llega el área marina de pesca responsable.
4Que en el área adyacente al AMPR de Costa de Pájaros, precisamente en el lado norte, existe una pequeña zona en la cual se han reportado muerte de rayas por parte de un grupo pequeño de pescadores que están utilizando un arte ilegal, el trasmallo de cerco, con el cual, al barrer el fondo capturan las rayas, las cuales luego aparecen muertas en la playa.
5Que el trasmallo de cerco está dirigido a la pesca de camarón, con el cual logran concentrar este crustáceo al barrer el fondo marino y luego capturarlo en grandes cantidades, mientras que los pescadores que utilizan el trasmallo legal, al frente de esta área, no tienen acceso a este recurso.
6Que el día viernes 19 de junio del año en curso, se realizó una reunión en el Salón de Reuniones de la Asociación de Mujeres de Costa de Pájaros, siendo uno de los objetivos de dicha reunión la definición del punto exacto terrestre, hasta donde va a llegar el Área Marina de Pesca Responsable. En la misma participaron 25 pescadores y los señores Elías Gutiérrez en representación del INCOPESCA, José L. Paredes, Capitán de Puerto de Puntarenas, Francisco Pizarro del Proyecto BID-GOLFOS y el Sr. Yeudy Peraza, de la compañía que va a instalar las boyas. Se definió que las coordenadas del punto en cuestión son 10°06'32" de latitud norte y 85°00' 19" longitud oeste.

7º-Escuchada la propuesta planteada por el Directivo Elías Gutiérrez Aragón, sobre la cual manifiesta fue elaborada de común acuerdo con el Director General Técnico, la Junta Directiva, Por tanto, ACUERDA:

1-Modificar el artículo 1 del AJDIP-182-2014, para establecer el punto geográfico número 1.1 en la parte norte del AMPR de Costa de Pájaros, el cual corresponde a las siguientes coordenadas: 10°06'32" de latitud norte y 85°00'19" longitud oeste, con lo cual, se establece un punto terrestre en la parte norte de dicha área y a la vez se evitará la captura ilegal de rayas y camarones con el arte ilegal trasmallo de cerco. El mapa ya modificado queda de la siguiente manera:
