Likewise, that specific decisions and actions aimed at their fulfillment must be incorporated into these objectives.
II.That the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Costa Rican Bar Association (Colegio de Abogados de Costa Rica) are organizing the 2013 Environmental Law Congress, which will take place from the 20th to the 22nd of November, 2013 in San José with the participation of non-governmental organizations, members of public universities, public institutions responsible for the administration of natural resources, and the national and international community, related to the environmental field.
III.That the objective of the congress is to review the current environmental legislation and propose its updating, in accordance with the principles of sustainability, from an interdisciplinary perspective.
IV.That said Congress is aimed at public institutions, municipalities, universities, non-governmental organizations, foundations, associations, private enterprise, and students, both nationally and internationally, who, through their work in the management, conservation, and development of natural resources, contribute to sustainable development and its institutional framework.
V.That this activity will feature keynote lectures by prominent figures on various subjects such as: the interdisciplinary analysis of environmental legislation, in relation to the main natural resources, water, soil, air, forest, biodiversity, climate change, oceans, and clean energy; as well as a review of the environmental institutional framework, public policies, and the adaptation to the country's needs.
VI.That the Ministry of Environment and Energy, as the governing body for the natural resources of the Nation, must promote activities related to these thematic areas.
VII.That for the proper execution of the 2013 Environmental Law Congress, close coordination and joint support between different institutions, public and private, national and international organizations, as well as civil society, is required. Therefore:
