in the entirety of the text - Complete Text of Norm 37482 Declares of public interest the IX Congress on Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation (COREHISA) Complete Text act: EC72C No. 37482-MINAE(*) THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY(*) (*)(Its name modified by article 11 of Law "Transfer of the Telecommunications sector from the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications to the Ministry of Science and Technology, No. 9046 of June 25, 2012) In exercise of the powers conferred by article 140, subsections 3) and 18) of the Political Constitution; articles 1, 12 and 13 of the Organic Law of the Environment, No. 7554 of October 4, 1995 and articles 4, 11, 25, 27.1 and 28 of the General Law of Public Administration, No. 6227 of May 2, 1978.
1st. That the Ministry of Environment and Energy(*), as governing body and within the framework of its institutional competencies, is responsible for promoting, supporting and participating in activities relating to water resources and environmental sanitation, in order to raise awareness of the challenges posed by sustainable development, the strategies for becoming a carbon-neutral country and society's responses to climate change, through the use of advanced techniques and technologies that ensure the rational use and quality of water resources and the environment.
(*)(Its name modified by article 11 of Law "Transfer of the Telecommunications sector from the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications to the Ministry of Science and Technology, No. 9046 of June 25, 2012) 2nd. That from March 11 to 14, 2013, our country will host the "IX Congress on Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation (COREHISA)", which seeks to foster concerted actions to offset the carbon emissions released by Costa Rica, facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge on the current state and development trends in sanitary, hydraulic and environmental engineering, which can contribute to the improvement of current conditions.
3rd. That it is of importance to declare this event of public interest, thereby promoting and facilitating the support of other institutions and entities that can contribute to its promotion and development.

1°. Que el Ministerio de Ambiente y Energía(*), como ente rector y dentro del marco de sus competencias institucionales, le corresponde impulsar, apoyar y participar de las actividades relativas a los recursos hídricos y saneamiento ambiental, con el fin de crean conciencia de los retos que plantea el desarrollo sostenible, las estrategias para llegar a ser un país carbono neutral y las respuestas de la sociedad ante el cambio climático, mediante el uso de técnicas y tecnologías de avanzada que permitan garantizar el uso racional y la calidad del recurso hídrico y el ambiente.

Que del 11 al 14 de marzo del 2013, nuestro país será sede del "IX Congreso de Recursos Hídricos y Saneamiento Ambiental (COREHISA)", que busca propiciar acciones concertadas para compensar las emisiones de carbono que libera Costa Rica, facilitando el intercambio de experiencias y conocimiento sobre el estado actual y las tendencias de desarrollo de la ingeniería sanitaria, hidráulica y ambiental, que puedan contribuir al mejoramiento de las condiciones actuales.
3°. Que resulta de importancia declarar este evento de interés público, y con ello promover y facilitar el apoyo de otras instituciones y entes que puedan coadyuvar en su promoción y desarrollo.
DECLARAR DE INTERÉS PÚBLICO EL IX CONGRESO DE RECURSOS HÍDRICOS Y SANEAMIENTO AMBIENTAL (COREHISA)
