RESOLUTION No. 273-2011 (COMIECO-LXI) THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF ECONOMIC INTEGRATION
That in accordance with articles 38, 39 and 55 of the Protocol to the General Treaty on Central American Economic Integration -Protocol of Guatemala-, modified by the Amendment of February 27, 2002, the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration has under its competence the matters of Central American Economic Integration and, as such, it is responsible for approving the administrative acts of the Economic Subsystem; That according to article 15 of that same regional legal instrument, the State Parties have the commitment to constitute a Customs Union among their territories, which will be achieved gradually and progressively, based on programs established for that purpose, approved by consensus; That within the framework of the process of forming the Customs Union, the State Parties have reached important agreements regarding Labeling Requirements for Pesticides for Domestic Use and Professional Use, which require the approval of the Council; That the State Parties, in their capacity as Members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), notified the Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade, in accordance with what is established in the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, of the Draft Central American Technical Regulation RTCA 65.03.57:10 Pesticides. Pesticides for Domestic Use and Professional Use. Labeling Requirements; That the State Parties granted a reasonable period of time to the Member States of the WTO to make observations on the notified draft Regulation as required by numeral 4), paragraph 9 of article 2 of the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, observations that were duly analyzed and addressed as pertinent; That in accordance with the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, Members shall provide a reasonable period of time between the approval of technical regulations and their entry into force, in order to give time for producers to adapt their products or their production methods to what is established in the regulations; That in accordance with numeral 3 of article 55 of the Protocol of Guatemala, the opinion of the Consultative Committee on Economic Integration was obtained,
Based on the provisions of articles 1, 3, 5, 7, 15, 26, 30, 36, 37, 38, 39, 46, 52 and 55 of the Protocol to the General Treaty on Central American Economic Integration - Protocol of Guatemala -,
To approve the Central American Technical Regulation RTCA 65.03.57:10 PESTICIDES. PESTICIDES FOR DOMESTIC USE AND PROFESSIONAL USE. LABELING REQUIREMENTS, in the form that appears as an Annex to this Resolution and forms an integral part thereof.
This Resolution shall enter into force on June 2, 2012, and shall be published by the State Parties.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION Applies to the labels of pesticides for domestic use and professional use in their different formulations and presentations.
Does not apply to pesticides of botanical and microbiological origin.

OMS: World Health Organization (WHO) FAO: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
4. DEFINITIONS 4.1 Pest control company (Empresa controladora de plagas): that natural or legal entity dedicated to using pesticides subject to this regulation to prevent, control, or destroy any pest that may affect human health, in interior areas or spaces, exteriors of homes, buildings, public and private facilities, industries, businesses, public and private vehicles, large extensions in gardening and recreation, and places where people circulate, remain, or gather.
4.2 Formulation additives (Aditivos de formulación): any emulsifying substance, solvent, dispersant, propellant, components of the pesticide formulation, or their mixtures.
4.3 Primary packaging or container (Envase primario o envase): any receptacle that has direct contact with the product, with the specific mission of protecting it from deterioration, contamination, or adulteration and facilitating its handling. Also simply designated as "container".
4.4 Secondary packaging or package (Envase secundario o empaque): any receptacle that has contact with one or more primary containers, with the purpose of protecting them and facilitating their commercialization until reaching the final consumer. Secondary packaging is generally used to group one or more primary containers into a single sales unit.
4.5 Tertiary packaging or packing (Envase terciario o embalaje): any receptacle used to facilitate handling and protect the primary container and/or secondary packaging against physical damage and external agents during storage and transport; these receptacles are used during product distribution and normally do not reach the final user.
4.6 Label (Etiqueta): set of written, printed, or graphic information elements relating to a product, chosen for their relevance to the sector or sectors concerned, which are adhered to or printed on the receptacle containing the product or on its exterior packing/container, or which are affixed to them.
4.7 Supplementary label (Etiqueta complementaria): one that replaces the original label when it is written in a language other than Spanish/Castilian; or, that supplements the information not included on the original label presented in Spanish/Castilian.
4.8 Manufacturer (Fabricante): legal entity dedicated to the synthesis of technical-grade active ingredients used in the formulation of pesticides subject to this regulation.
4.9 Formulation (Formulación): process by which pesticides containing one or more active ingredients uniformly distributed in one or more additives are produced, with or without the aid of formulation conditioners.
4.10 Formulator (Formulador): natural or legal person dedicated to the formulation of pesticides subject to this regulation.
4.11 Active ingredient (Ingrediente activo): component of a formulation responsible for direct or indirect biological activity against pests and vectors. A single active ingredient may consist of one or more chemical entities that may differ in relative activity. A formulation may contain one or more active ingredients.
4.12 Trademark (Marca comercial): any denominative, figurative, three-dimensional, or mixed sign, visually perceptible, that is suitable for distinguishing the products or services of one individual or legal entity from those of others.
4.13 Trade name (Nombre comercial): denominative or mixed sign by which a company, a commercial establishment, or an entity is identified and distinguished.
4.14 Common name (Nombre común): name of the active ingredient, approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
4.15 Pest (Plaga): any type of organism that, due to its population density, damages crops, health, production assets, and the human environment.
4.16 Pesticide (Plaguicida): any substance or mixture of chemical substances intended to prevent, destroy, or control any pest, including vectors of human diseases or undesirable species of plants and animals that cause damage or otherwise interfere with the production, processing, storage, transport, or marketing of consumer goods.
4.17 Pesticide for domestic use (Plaguicida de uso doméstico): formulation containing one or more active ingredients, which through scientific studies have recognition for use in environments where people live, circulate, remain, or gather (homes, buildings, public and private facilities, industries, businesses, public and private vehicles, interior and exterior gardens). Spaces where agricultural activities or large-scale gardening are carried out are not included. These pesticides must be category IV according to the WHO toxicological classification. They must be ready-to-use formulations without any modification, as sold.
4.18 Pesticide for professional use (Plaguicida de uso profesional): formulation containing one or more active ingredients. They can only be applied by authorized and trained personnel. These pesticides must be categories II, III, or IV according to the WHO toxicological classification, and at the time of their application, the final dilution must be classified as category IV. These pesticides must have recognition for application in environments where people live, circulate, remain, or gather (homes, buildings, public and private facilities, industries, businesses, public and private vehicles, interior and exterior gardens, large extensions of gardening and recreation).
NOTE: This category includes pesticides for public health use and pesticides for use by pest control companies (empresas controladoras de plagas).
4.19 Pamphlet or instruction leaflet (Panfleto o instructivo): document containing the technical-scientific information attached to the finished product, which must contain at least the necessary data for the safe and effective use of the pesticide for domestic use and professional use it accompanies.
4.20 Central panel of the label (Panel central de la etiqueta): it is the part of the label where the trade name and common name, the type of formulation, the product's trademark, or the registered trademark, if applicable, are inscribed.
5. GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS OF LABELING 5.1 General principles of labeling for pesticides for domestic and professional use.
5.1.1 Labels placed on pesticides must be applied in such a way that they do not separate from the container or package under normal conditions of use.
5.1.2 The printing materials used must be of such quality that they resist the action of atmospheric agents and normal conditions of use, transport, and storage.
5.1.3 Language must be clear, brief, simple, and free of ideas that tend to amplify or exaggerate the real qualities or capabilities of the pesticide. Words must be commonly used, avoiding technicalities that confuse the user and using words that accurately define the idea.
5.1.4 The use of indications such as "non-toxic (no tóxico)", "not harmful (no nocivo)", or any other analogous indication is not permitted, nor the use of extensive terms such as: "etc. (etc.)", "and others (y otros)", "widely (ampliamente)", "the most diverse (los más diversos)", "certain (ciertos)", "almost all (casi todos)", "the majority (la mayoría)", or any other analogous indication.
5.1.5 The graphic representations, figures, pictograms, or necessary designs of the labeling must appear clearly visible and easily legible, avoiding the use of drawings that confuse or induce misuse of the product.
5.1.6 The texts and legends on the labeling of pesticide containers or packages intended for the Central American market must be written in Spanish. When the language in which the label is written is not Spanish, a supplementary label (etiqueta complementaria) in Spanish must be placed, containing the mandatory information included in this regulation.
5.1.7 When a supplementary label (etiqueta complementaria) is used to replace the original label or supplement it, the information contained therein must conform to what is established in this regulation, and it must be adhered to the container or package.
5.1.8 Labels written in more than one language will be accepted, provided that the information is also in Spanish/Castilian.
5.1.9 Information that, due to the size of the container or package, cannot be part of the pesticide labeling (both for domestic and professional use) must be presented in a pamphlet (panfleto) accompanying each container or package, and must include the legend, in uppercase and bold letters, stating: "READ THE PAMPHLET OR INSTRUCTION LEAFLET BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT".
5.2 Dimensions of the label 5.2.1 Pesticides for domestic use The label dimension must adjust to the size of the container and package. The font size and pictograms must comply with what is established in points 5.3.1 to 5.3.3.
5.2.2 Pesticides for professional use For pesticides for professional use, the label size must be in accordance with the following proportions:
a. On containers or packages with a capacity up to 4 L or 5 kg, the label must cover at least 75% of its total surface, excluding the top and bottom of the container or package.
b. On containers or packages larger than 4 L or 5 kg up to 18 L or 25 kg, the label must cover at least 25% of its total surface, excluding the top and bottom of the container or package. Under no circumstances may the size be smaller than that defined for labels in subsection a.) of this article.
c. On containers or packages with a capacity greater than 18 L or 25 kg, the label size must be at least equal to the size defined in subsection b.) of this numeral.
5.3 Font size and pictograms for pesticides for domestic use and professional use.
5.3.1 Font size The warning legends required in this regulation must be in uppercase and bold, with a size of at least 2 mm, and all other texts at least 1.25 mm, 5.3.2 Printing styles 5.3.2.1 Printing on the label must be in the same direction and must never overlap, even when different colors are used.
5.3.2.2 Condensed printing must never be used.
5.3.2.3 Italic printing must only be used for scientific or Latin names.
5.3.2.4 Highlighted printing must only be used for emphasis.
5.3.3 Size of pictograms The pictograms required in this regulation must be of dimensions that allow the user to identify and understand the message. The minimum permitted size is 7 x 7 mm. For pesticides for professional use, the placement of pictograms is established in point 7.4.3.
5.4 Legends required on the label.
5.4.1 The telephone numbers of the Toxicological Information Centers of each State Party must be declared.
5.4.2 On each label for domestic and professional use, as applicable, the following warning legends must be placed:
a. For both types of pesticides: "CAUTION; READ THE LABEL AND THE PERTINENT INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT".
b. In the case of pesticides for professional use, the legend must state: "CAUTION, READ THE LABEL, THE PAMPHLET, AND THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT".
c. For both types of pesticides: "DO NOT APPLY DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY ON FOOD OR KITCHEN UTENSILS"; "DO NOT APPLY IN THE PRESENCE OF PERSONS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS"; "DO NOT TRANSPORT OR STORE NEXT TO FOOD PRODUCTS AND CLOTHING"; "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS"; "NEVER REUSE THIS CONTAINER".
d. In addition, they must include a legend indicating: "DO NOT EAT, DRINK, OR SMOKE WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. WASH HANDS CAREFULLY WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTER HANDLING THIS PRODUCT".
5.4.3 In the case of pesticides for professional use, the corresponding pictograms must be included, in accordance with Annexes 1 and 2.
a. On both types of pesticides, the re-entry period to the area or environment that has been treated must be indicated. In addition, the pest controlled by the product must be declared using the common name and the scientific name.
b. Legend in uppercase and bold letters stating: "IN CASE OF DISCOMFORT OR INTOXICATION, TAKE THE PATIENT TO A DOCTOR AND PROVIDE THIS LABEL, PAMPHLET, OR INSTRUCTION LEAFLET".
6. LABEL FORMAT FOR PESTICIDES FOR DOMESTIC USE.
6.1 Central panel or Main section of the label.
The following requirements must appear on the central panel or main section of the label:
a. The trade name and the trademark of the product.
b. The legend "PLAGUICIDA DE USO DOMESTICO".
c. The biocidal action of the pesticide, indicating its physical form or the term that best defines its physical state.
d. The net content in International System units, and it will not require any additional phrase to identify it.
6.2 Other mandatory information on the label.
The following requirements must be distributed on the rest of the label in the order decided by the manufacturer:
a. The Common name (Nombre común) and the chemical name of the active ingredient(s) (in accordance with the chemical nomenclature recognized by IUPAC), the concentration of this and other ingredients of toxicological importance, expressed in percentage form. The quantity in grams of the active ingredient(s) contained per liter or kilogram of formulated product must be indicated.
b. Under the title "PHRASES AND WARNINGS OF USE (FRASES Y ADVERTENCIAS DE USO)", the legends established in numeral 5.4 must be included.
c. Under the title "SAFETY PRECAUTIONS (PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD)", the specific warnings for the product must be indicated (if they exist), good application practice, precautions to consider before and after application.
d. Under the title "SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF INTOXICATION (SINTOMAS Y SIGNOS DE INTOXICACION)", the symptoms and effects of acute intoxication in humans must be indicated, by ingestion, inhalation, dermal and ocular contact, or any other. Use common terms.
e. Under the title "FIRST AID (PRIMEROS AUXILIOS)", indicate the immediate measures to be taken in case of acute overexposure to the product:
- In case of ingestion, the manufacturer or formulator must indicate the measures to take, which will depend on the type of formulation and the active ingredient(s) it contains.
- Must bear the legend: "NEVER GIVE TO DRINK OR INDUCE VOMITING IN AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON." - IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH SKIN, WASH USING PLENTIFUL SOAP AND WATER.
- IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH EYES, WASH WITH WATER FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. IF OCULAR IRRITATION PERSISTS, VISIT A DOCTOR. WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING.
f. Under the title "RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PHYSICIAN (RECOMENDACIONES AL MEDICO)", indicate the antidotes and specific treatment, as well as the measures to confirm the diagnosis, if known. If there is no antidote, indicate "HAS NO ANTIDOTE (NO TIENE ANTÍDOTO)".
g. Under the title "INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE (INSTRUCCIONES DE USO)", indicate the method of application, dosages, target pests of the product, and any other information the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary for the use of the product.
h. Under the title "PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS OF USE (PRECAUCIONES Y ADVERTENCIAS DE USO)", the physical and chemical risks of the pesticide must be indicated, and any other the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary.
i. If the product is an aerosol, a liquid, or a flammable or combustible solid, it must bear the flammability or combustibility pictogram established in Annex 1, and the following warnings:
- Pressurized container. Do not perforate or burn, even after use.
- Do not spray on an open flame or on incandescent material.
- Keep away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames.
- Do not smoke when using the product.
- Protect from sunlight and do not expose this product to a temperature above 50°C.
j. Under the title "MEASURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (MEDIDAS PARA PROTECCION AL AMBIENTE)", indicate the appropriate destruction of containers, protection of domestic animal species and fauna in general, and to prevent contamination of soil, air, water tables, and receiving water bodies.
The indications must comply with what is established in the legislations of each country.
k. The product label must indicate the country of formulation with the legend "FORMULATED IN (FORMULADO EN)".
l. The official registration number issued by the competent authority of the State Party. In addition, the batch number, date of formulation, and expiration date (indicating month and year) must be included; these may appear outside the label, forming part of the primary container (envase primario), and must be provided by the manufacturer or formulator.
m. The name, address, and telephone number of the manufacturer, formulator, importer, distributor, or packer.
7. LABEL FORMAT FOR PESTICIDES FOR PROFESSIONAL USE 7.1 Pesticides for professional use must contain the following requirements on the central panel or main section of the label:
a. The trade name and the trademark of the product.
b. The legend "PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA SALUD PUBLICA" or "PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA EMPRESAS CONTROLADORAS DE PLAGAS", as the case may be.
c. The common name (nombre común) and the chemical name of the active ingredient (according to the chemical nomenclature recognized by IUPAC), the concentration of this and other ingredients of toxicological importance, expressed in percentage form. The quantity in grams of the active ingredient(s) contained per liter or kilogram of formulated product must be indicated.
d. The biocidal action of the pesticide, indicating its physical form or the term that best defines its physical state.
For the purposes of this Regulation, the WHO toxicological classification criteria will be used, according to the following table:

7.2 Other mandatory information on the label.
The requirements included in this section must be distributed on the rest of the label according to the design presented in numeral 7.4 of this regulation:
a. Under the title "PHRASES AND WARNINGS OF USE (FRASES Y ADVERTENCIAS DE USO)", the legends established in numeral 5.4 must be included.
b. Under the title "SAFETY PRECAUTIONS (PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD)", the specific warnings for the product must be indicated (if they exist), good application practice, precautions when handling concentrates (if applicable), precautions to consider before and after application, care with application equipment (if there is a risk), among others.
c. Under the title "SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF INTOXICATION (SINTOMAS Y SIGNOS DE INTOXICACION)", the symptoms and effects of acute intoxication in humans must be indicated, by ingestion, inhalation, dermal and ocular contact, or any other. Use common terms.
d. Under the title "FIRST AID (PRIMEROS AUXILIOS)", indicate the immediate measures that must be taken in case of acute overexposure to the product:
- In case of ingestion, the manufacturer or formulator must indicate the measures to take, which will depend on the type of formulation and the active ingredient(s) it contains.
- Must bear the legend: "NEVER GIVE TO DRINK OR INDUCE VOMITING IN AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON." - IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH SKIN, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE ALL CONTAMINATED CLOTHING. WASH THE SKIN AREAS IN CONTACT WITH THE PESTICIDE, USING PLENTIFUL SOAP AND WATER.
- IN CASE OF CONTACT WITH EYES, WASH WITH WATER FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. IF OCULAR IRRITATION PERSISTS, VISIT A DOCTOR. Under the title "RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PHYSICIAN (RECOMENDACIONES AL MEDICO)", indicate the antidotes and specific treatment, as well as the measures to confirm the diagnosis, if known. If there is no antidote, indicate "HAS NO ANTIDOTE (NO TIENE ANTÍDOTO)".
e. Under the heading "INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE", indicate the method of application, dosages, pests for which the product is intended, and any other information the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary for the use of the product.
f. Under the heading "PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS FOR USE", the physical and chemical risks of the pesticide must be indicated, along with any other the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary.
If the product is a flammable or combustible aerosol, liquid, or solid, it must bear the corresponding flammability or combustibility pictogram from Annex 1 (Anexo 1), and the following warnings:
- Pressurized container, do not puncture or burn, even after use. - Do not spray on an open flame or incandescent material. - Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames. - Do not smoke when using the product. - Protect from sunlight and do not expose the product to temperatures exceeding 50°C.
g. Under the heading "MEASURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION", indicate the proper final disposal of containers after use, protection of domestic animal species and fauna in general, and measures to prevent contamination of soil, air, water tables (mantos), and receiving water bodies. The indications must comply with the provisions of the legislation of each country.
h. Pesticides for professional use must include the toxicological classification of the pesticide on the label in a visual manner using a specific color, as established in Table 1 (Tabla 1). The color identification shall be in the form of a band along the base of the label, whose width shall be equal to 15% of the height of said label. At the center of the band, the text indicating the toxicological category of the product must be printed in black or a contrasting color: "MODERATELY HAZARDOUS" ("MODERADAMENTE PELIGROSO") for Category II, "SLIGHTLY HAZARDOUS" ("LIGERAMENTE PELIGROSO") for Category III, and "PRECAUTION" ("PRECAUCION") for products in Category IV, as applicable, in a size no smaller than one-third of the width of the band.
i. The shades of the colors and the signal words corresponding to the toxicological category of the pesticides must be as indicated in Table 1 (Tabla 1).
j. The batch number, date of formulation, and expiration date (indicating month and year) may appear outside the label as part of the primary packaging. The product label must indicate the country of formulation with the legend "FORMULATED IN".
k. The official registration number, issued by the competent authority of the State Party. Additionally, the batch number, date of formulation, and expiration date (indicating month and year) must be included; these may appear outside the label as part of the primary packaging, and must be provided by the manufacturer or formulator.
l. The name, address, and telephone number of the manufacturer, formulator, importer, distributor, or packer.
7.3 Leaflet (Panfleto) 7.3.1 Pesticides for professional use must include a leaflet (panfleto) that, in addition to reproducing the information on the label, contains information regarding application equipment, personal protective equipment, method of application, dosage, mode of action, mechanism of action, re-entry period to treated areas, and other specific measures for the prevention of harm to health and the protection of the user, domestic animals, and the environment.
7.3.2 The leaflet (panfleto) must bear the legend in uppercase and bold letters stating: "DO NOT EAT, SMOKE, OR DRINK DURING THE HANDLING AND APPLICATION OF THIS PRODUCT. BATHE AFTER HANDLING IT AND PUT ON CLEAN CLOTHES." 7.4 AUTHORIZED LABEL FORMATS 7.4.1 In the case of a single-panel label, it must contain the following information:
a. The legend "PROFESSIONAL-USE PESTICIDE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH" ("PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA SALUD PÚBLICA") or "PROFESSIONAL-USE PESTICIDE FOR PEST CONTROL COMPANIES" ("PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA EMPRESAS CONTROLADORAS DE PLAGAS").
b. Trade name and brand name of the product.
c. Chemical name, common name, and concentration in percentages of the active ingredient(s) and other additives of toxicological importance.
d. Pesticides for professional use must indicate the quantity in grams of the active ingredient(s) contained per liter or kilogram of formulated product.
e. Type of formulation and biocidal action.
f. The official registration number, issued by the competent authority of the State Party. Additionally, the batch number, date of formulation, and expiration date (indicating month and year) must be included; these may appear outside the label as part of the primary packaging.
g. Instructions for use.
h. Entry periods to areas where the pesticide has been applied.
i. Safety precautions and warning phrases. The necessary pictograms in accordance with Annex 2 (Anexo 2).
j. Precautions and warnings for physical and chemical risk, and any other the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary, including the respective pictograms in accordance with Annex 1 (Anexo 1).
k. First aid and recommendations to the physician.
l. The net content in International System units and it shall not require any additional phrase to identify it.
m. Name, address, and telephone number of the manufacturer, formulator, importer, distributor, or packer.
n. Warning phrases from numeral 5.4.
o. Environmental protection measures (including the pictograms from Annex 2 (Anexo 2)).
p. Legal responsibility, transport, storage, incompatibility with other products warnings, and any other information the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary.
q. Color corresponding to the toxicological category and its name (as per the provisions in Table 1 (Tabla 1)).
7.4.2 In the case of a two-panel label:
7.4.2.1 The first panel or central panel must contain the following information:
a. The legend "PROFESSIONAL-USE PESTICIDE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH" ("PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA SALUD PÚBLICA") or "PROFESSIONAL-USE PESTICIDE FOR PEST CONTROL COMPANIES" ("PLAGUICIDA DE USO PROFESIONAL PARA EMPRESAS CONTROLADORAS DE PLAGAS"), as applicable.
b. Trade name and brand name of the product.
c. Chemical name, common name, and concentration in percentages of the active ingredient(s) and other additives of toxicological importance.
d. Pesticides for professional use must indicate the quantity in grams of the active ingredient(s) contained per liter or kilogram of formulated product.
e. Type of formulation and biocidal action.
f. The net content in International System units and it shall not require any additional phrase to identify it.
7.4.2.2 The second panel, which may be located to the left or right of the central panel, must contain:
a. Instructions for use.
b. The entry periods to areas where the pesticide has been applied.
c. Safety precautions and warning phrases (established in numeral 5.4). Furthermore, the necessary pictograms must be included in accordance with Annex 2 (Anexo 2).
d. Precautions and warnings for physical and chemical risk, and any other the manufacturer or formulator deems necessary, including the respective pictograms in accordance with Annex 1 (Anexo 1).
e. First aid and recommendations to the physician.
f. Environmental protection measures (including the necessary pictograms from Annex 2 (Anexo 2)).
g. Name and address of the manufacturer or formulator, distributor, and registrant.
h. Legal responsibility, transport, storage, and incompatibility with other products warnings.
i. The official registration number issued by the competent authority of the State Party. It must also include the batch number, date of formulation, and expiration date (indicating month and year); these may appear outside the label as part of the primary packaging.
j. Name, address, and telephone number of the manufacturer, formulator, importer, distributor, or packer.
k. Environmental protection measures (including the pictograms from Annex 2 (Anexo 2)).
