LETTER OF INTENT ON AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL MATTERS BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY OF NICARAGUA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF COSTA RICA, THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Nicaragua and the Government of Costa Rica, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica, hereinafter "the Parties",
1. That both Ministries understand the importance of cooperation on agricultural and rural matters, as a valuable instrument that constitutes a contribution to the economic and social development of their respective countries; 2. That the exchange of experiences, education, and training in agricultural and rural matters in the public and private sphere will contribute to the improvement of socioeconomic conditions in both countries; 3. That the signing of this Letter of Intent between both Parties reflects the special interest in broadening and deepening mutual knowledge in the field of the agricultural sector; 4. That these efforts represent a significant contribution aimed at fostering greater interaction between the public sectors of both countries, in order to contribute to the improvement of their competitive capacities, to the improvement of the services and public servants of the sector, as well as to facilitate the integration of the agricultural sector and related activities into international markets.
5. The desire of both institutions to establish in the future a broad Cooperation Program on agricultural and rural matters, and 6. That this legal instrument is based on the purposes and principles of the Tegucigalpa Protocol and on Article 8, subsection g) of the Central American Social Integration Treaty, which promotes cooperation among the member States of the Central American Integration System.
HEREBY EXPRESS THEIR FIRM INTENTION TO:
