in the entirety of the text - Complete Text of Norm 34497 Declares of public interest the "8th Latin American Symposium on Analytical Environmental and Sanitary Chemistry" Complete Text record: BA318 Nº 34497 THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY In exercise of the powers conferred by subsections 3) and 18) of article 140 and 146 of the Political Constitution, the Law for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Development, N° 7169 of June 26, 1990, published in La Gaceta N° 144 of August 1, 1990, article 27 of the General Law of Public Administration, N° 6227 of May 2, 1978, and

1. 1That the Electrochemistry and Chemical Energy Center, CELEQ, and the Microbiology Faculty of the University of Costa Rica, the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, and the Network for Environmental Quality Analysis in Latin America, (RACAL), are organizing the "8th Latin American Symposium on Analytical Environmental and Sanitary Chemistry"; prior to the Symposium, the 4th Workshop on Environmental Microbiology and two Additional Workshops, one on environmental sampling and the other on current topics in the evaluation of chemical contaminants in the environment, will take place. These activities will be held between February 16 and 20, 2009.
2. 2That the aforementioned Symposium will be of great importance, since the topics to be addressed are matters that affect the living conditions of Costa Ricans: the quality of water, air, and soil. The emergence of emerging contaminants, such as antibiotic residues, hormones, pesticides and their metabolites, the presence of trace metals with carcinogenic properties, the risk assessment of exposure to chemical substances through biosensors, among others.
3. 3That the general objective is to provide a space for gathering and exchanging experiences and knowledge among academics and researchers committed to the care, evaluation, and sustainable development of the environment, as these will provide an updated vision of current microbiological, toxicological, and chemical issues, through conferences, workshops, etc.
4. 4That in accordance with article 8 of the Law for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Development, N° 7169, all non-profit scientific and technological activities carried out by the entities that are part of the National Science and Technology System are of public interest. Therefore,

en la totalidad del texto - Texto Completo Norma 34497 Declara de interés público el “8avo Simposio Latinoamericano de Química Analítica Ambiental y Sanitaria" Texto Completo acta: BA318 Nº 34497 EL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPÚBLICA Y LA MINISTRA DE CIENCIA Y TECNOLOGÍA En uso de las facultades conferidas por los incisos 3) y 18) del artículo 140 y 146 de la Constitución Política, la Ley de Promoción del Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico, N° 7169 del 26 de junio de 1990, publicada en La Gaceta N° 144 de 01 de agosto de 1990, el artículo 27 de la Ley General de la Administración Pública, N° 6227 de 2 de mayo de 1978, y

1. 1Que el Centro de Electroquímica y Energía Química, CELEQ y la Facultad de Microbiología de la Universidad de Costa Rica, el Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica y la Red para el Análisis de la Calidad Ambiental en América Latina, (RACAL), está organizando el "8avo Simposio Latinoamericano de Química Analítica Ambiental y Sanitaria", previos al Simposio se realizará el 4to Taller en Microbiología Ambiental y dos Talleres Adicionales, uno sobre muestreo ambiental y el otro sobre tópicos actuales en la evaluación de contaminantes químicos en el ambiente. Estas actividades tendrán lugar entre el 16 y 20 de febrero del año 2009.
2. 2Que el mencionado Simposio, será de gran importancia, ya que los temas que se abordarán son asuntos que afectan las condiciones de vida de los costarricenses: la calidad del agua, del aire y del suelo. La aparición de contaminantes emergentes, como son residuos de antibióticos, hormonas, plaguicidas y sus metabólicos, la presencia de metales traza con propiedades cancerígenas, la evaluación del riesgo de la exposición a sustancias químicas por medio de biosensores, entre otras.
3. 3Que el objetivo general es propiciar un espacio de encuentro e intercambio de experiencias y conocimientos entre académicos e investigadores comprometidos con el cuidado, evaluación y desarrollo sostenible del medio ambiente, ya que estos nos brindarán una visión actualizada de la problemática microbiológica, toxicología y química actual, por medio de conferencias, talleres, etc.
4. 4Que de conformidad con el artículo 8 de la Ley de Promoción del Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico, N° 7169, todas las actividades científicas y tecnológicas sin fines de lucro, realizadas por las entidades que forman parte del Sistema Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, son de interés público. Por tanto,
