in the entirety of the text - Complete Text of Regulation 34437 Reform to the Composition of the National Commission for Biodiversity Management Complete Text of record: CDA37 No. 34437 No. 34437 (This Decree was repealed by article 3, point 5 of executive decree No. 35786 of January 22, 2010) THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY In exercise of the powers conferred upon them by articles 140, subsections 3) and 18), and 146 of the Political Constitution, and the Biodiversity Law No. 7788 of April 30, 1998.
I.—That the Biodiversity Law No. 7788 of April 30, 1998, created the National Commission for Biodiversity Management as a deconcentrated body of the Ministry of Environment and Energy with instrumental legal personality.
II.—That the aforementioned Law assigns to this Commission functions relating to the conservation, ecologically sustainable use, and restoration of biodiversity, which are of vital importance for the sustainable development of the country.
III.—That article 15 of the Biodiversity Law establishes the manner in which the Commission shall be composed, authorizing the extension of the appointments made by the entities and organizations that are members of the deconcentrated body.
IV.—That the appointment of Mrs. Fanny Levin Picado, representative of the Minister of Health before the Commission, expired on the ninth of August, 2007; however, said Mrs. Levin Picado has continued in her functions as a full member from the tenth of August, 2007, to the present, which is why the extension of her appointment is effective as of the tenth of August, 2007. Therefore, They Decree:

III.-Que el artículo 15 de la Ley de Biodiversidad, establece la forma en que se integrará la Comisión, autorizando la prórroga de los nombramientos realizados por los entes y organizaciones integrantes del órgano desconcentrado.
IV.-Que el nombramiento de la señora Fanny Levin Picado, representante de la Ministra de Salud ante la Comisión venció el día nueve de agosto del 2007, sin embargo dicha señora ha continuado con sus funciones como miembro propietario desde el día diez de agosto del 2007 hasta el presente, razón por la cuál la prórroga en su nombramiento rige desde el diez de agosto del 2007.
