Transfer free of charge to the Institute of Lands and Colonization, insofar as they are not comprised within the exceptions indicated by Laws No. 2825 of October 14, 1961 and its amendments and Law 4465 of November 25, 1969 and its amendments, or if they are lands of private domain or that for other legal causes cannot be transferred, the lands located in the cantons V-Turrialba of the province of Cartago; I-Limón, II-Pococí, III-Siquirres, V-Matina and VI-Guácimo, all of the province of Limón and comprised within the following demarcation:

Starting from the point of coordinates 559,540-229,760, which is the intersection of the río Mercedes with the boundary of the Forest Reserve (Reserva Forestal) of the Cordillera Volcánica Central, follow downstream along the río Mercedes to its confluence with the río Toro Amarillo at the point of coordinates 557,750-234,080, to then continue downstream along the río Toro Amarillo until reaching the bridge located on the cart road that connects Guápiles with the lands of Río Frío, at the point of coordinates 557,700-238,540; continue along this road towards the north, heading to Guápiles until the point of coordinates 558,585-240,630; follow an easterly heading to intercept the channel of the río Guápiles, at the point of coordinates 558,770-240,620; continue downstream of this river to the point of coordinates 566,250-257,380 to then continue along a succession of straight lines whose distances and coordinates are:

This last vertex intercepts the Costa Rica Railway line in the vicinity of Cuba Creek on the Zent Branch; continue along the route of this Railway with an east-southeast heading until reaching the Moín Junction, coordinates 638,220-220,460; follow a northerly heading along the Estrada Railway Branch to reach the mouth of the río Moín at the Caribbean Sea, coordinates 637,440-220,660; continue along the coast on a line equidistant two hundred meters from it until reaching the perimeter of the city of Limón; passing through this city, the boundary of the zone shall be the coastline line until reaching the mouth of the Estero Cieneguita at the Caribbean Sea, coordinates 642,400-219,360; from this point follow a south-southeast heading on a line equidistant two hundred meters from the coast to intercept the Limón-La Bomba highway, coordinates 645,700-212,620; continue along this highway with a general southwesterly heading until reaching a point whose coordinates are: 645,530-212,210; follow then on a line equidistant five hundred meters from the right bank, upstream, of the río Banano, and for a distance of ten kilometers until reaching a point whose coordinates are: 636,500-211,460; from here, by means of a straight line of five hundred meters, reach the channel of the río Banano at coordinates 636,650-211,000; from this point continue upstream of the aforementioned river until reaching the confluence with the río Segundo, at coordinates 626,000-207,500; follow upstream of the río Segundo to intercept the boundary of the Chirripó Indigenous Reserve (Reserva Indígena), coordinates 621,150-208,090; follow along this boundary, drawing a line of 700 meters to intercept the channel of the río Peje at coordinates 621,760-208,460; continuing downstream of this river until reaching the confluence of a small quebrada at coordinates 621,190-211,110; next, the boundary is a succession of straight lines whose distances and coordinates are:

This last vertex is located on the channel of the quebrada Zopilote, along which one continues downstream until reaching the point of coordinates 616,480-215,000; then by means of a straight line, due west heading and 1,200 meters in length, reach the channel of the río Zent, coordinates 615,270-215,000; continuing then downstream of this river to coordinates 615,200-216,770; next, follow a succession of straight lines that are the boundary of the Chirripó and Chirripó-Corina Indigenous Reserves, which have the following distances and coordinates:

This last point is located on the channel of the quebrada Surubre, and one continues downstream of it until reaching the boundary of the Cabécar de Barbilla Indigenous Reserve, coordinates 604,320-220,450; from this point follow the boundary of the aforementioned reserve, which is a succession of straight lines with the following distances and coordinates:

This last vertex is located on the springs (nacientes) of a small quebrada that has no name; follow downstream of this quebrada, with a general northwesterly heading, until its mouth at the río Barbilla, coordinates 604,460-223,880; continue downstream of this river until reaching coordinates 604,630-224,570; from this point follow again a succession of straight lines with the distances and coordinates as follows:

This last vertex is located on the channel of the quebrada Cañabral, along which one continues upstream to a point located at coordinates 600,980-223,125; from this point continue again by a succession of lines with the following distances and coordinates:

This last point is the original starting point of the present description, comprising an area of 160,000 hectares.

ITCO shall not grant property titles in those areas that in the judgment of the Forestry Directorate and in accordance with the current Forest Law (Ley Forestal), are or should be declared Forest Reserves or of another nature. If after said term the Forestry Directorate does not issue a pronouncement, its possible objections shall be considered waived.

A partir del punto de coordenadas 559,540-229,760, que es la intercepción del río Mercedes con el lindero de la Reserva Forestal de la Cordillera Volcánica Central se sigue aguas abajo del río Mercedes hasta su confluencia con el río Toro Amarillo en el punto de coordenadas 557,750-234,080, para continuar luego aguas abajo del río Toro Amarillo hasta llegar al puente localizado sobre el camino carretero que comunica a Guápiles con las tierras' de Río Frío, en el punto de coordenadas 557,700-238,540, se continúa por este camino hacia el norte, con rumbo a Guápiles hasta el punto de coordenadas 558,585-240,630, se sigue con rumbo este franco hasta interceptar el cauce del río Guápiles, en el punto de coordenadas 558,770-240,620, se continúa aguas abajo de este río hasta el punto de coordenadas 566,250-257,380 para continuar luego por una sucesión de líneas rectas cuyas distancias y coordenadas son:

Este último vértice intercepta la línea del Ferrocarril de Costa Rica en las vecindades de Cuba Creek sobre el Ramal de Zent, se continúa por el trazado de este Ferrocarril con rumbo este-sureste hasta llegar al Empalme Moín, coor­denadas 638,220-220,460, se sigue con rumbo norte por el Ramal de Ferrocarril de Estrada hasta llegar a la desembocadura del río Moín al mar Caribe, coordenadas 637,440-220,660, se continúa a lo largo de la costa en una línea equidistante doscientos metros de la misma hasta alcanzar el perímetro de la ciudad de Limón, a su paso por esta ciudad, el lindero de la zona será la 'línea de la costa hasta llegar a la desembocadura del Estero Cieneguita al mar Caribe, coordenadas 642,400-219,360, de este punto se sigue con rumbo sur-sureste con una línea equidistante. doscientos metros de la costa hasta interceptar la ca­rretera Limón-La Bomba, coordenadas 645,700-212,620, se continúa por esta carretera con rumbo general suroeste hasta llegar a un punto cuyas coordenadas son: 645,530-212,210, se sigue luego por una línea equidistante quinientos metros de la margen derecha, aguas arriba, del río Banano y en una distancia de diez kilómetros hasta alcanzar un punto cuyas coordenadas son: 636,500-211,460 de aquí, mediante una línea recta de quinientos metros se llega al cauce del río Banano en las coordenadas 636,650-211,000, de este punto se continúa aguas arriba del río mencionado hasta llegar a la confluencia con el río Segundo, en las coordenadas 626,000-207,500, se sigue aguas arriba del río Segundo hasta interceptar el lindero de la Reserva Indígena de Chirripó, coordenadas 621,150-208,090, se sigue a lo largo de este lindero, trazando una línea de 700 metros para interceptar el cauce del río Peje en las coordenadas 621,760-208,460, siguiendo aguas abajo de este río hasta llegar a la confluencia de una quebrada pequeña en las coordenadas 621,190-211,110, a continuación el lindero es una sucesión de líneas rectas cuyas distancias y coordenadas son:

Este último vértice se localiza sobre el cauce de la quebrada Zopilote, por la que se continúa aguas abajo hasta llegar al punto de coordenadas 616,480­215,000, luego mediante una línea recta, rumbo oeste franco y de 1 200 metros de longitud se llega al cauce del río Zent, coordenadas 615,270-215,000, siguiendo luego aguas abajo de este río hasta las coordenadas 615,200-216,770 a continuación se sigue por una sucesión de líneas rectas que son el lindero de las Reservas Indígenas de Chirripó y Chirripó-Corina, las que tienen las siguientes distancias y coordenadas:

Este último punto se localiza sobre el cauce de la quebrada Surubre y se continúa aguas abajo de la misma hasta alcanzar el lindero de la Reserva Indígena Cabécar de Barbilla, coordenadas 604,320-220,450, de este punto se sigue por el lindero de la mencionada reserva que es una sucesión de líneas rectas con las siguientes distancias y coordenadas:

Este último vértice se localiza sobre las nacientes de una quebrada pequeña que no tiene nombre, se sigue aguas abajo de esta quebrada, con rumbo general noroeste, hasta su desembocadura al río Barbilla, coordenadas 604,460-223,880, se continúa aguas abajo de este río hasta llegar a las coordenadas 604,630-224,570, de este punto se sigue nuevamente una sucesión de líneas rectas con las distancias y coordenadas siguientes:

Este último vértice se localiza sobre el cauce de la quebrada Cañabral por la que se continúa aguas arriba hasta un punto ubicado sobre las coordenadas 600,980-223,125, de este punto se continúa nuevamente por una sucesión de líneas rectas con las siguientes distancias y coordenadas:

El ITCO no otorgará títulos de propiedad en aquellas áreas que a juicio de la Dirección Forestal y de acuerdo con la Ley Forestal vigente, son o deban ser declaradas Reservas Forestales o de otra índole. Si pasado dicho término la Dirección Forestal no se pronuncia, se considerarán allanadas sus posibles objeciones.
