Considering:
Article 5, subsection h) of Law No. 7384, Law Creating the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, published in La Gaceta No. 62 of 29 March 1994, the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (INCOPESCA) has among its functions, the power to issue, suspend and cancel marine fishing permits and vessel construction permits, as well as licenses and concessions for production in the field of aquaculture, to the individuals or legal entities that request them.
8436, Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, published in La Gaceta No. 78 of 25 April 2005, states that INCOPESCA shall exercise control over fishing and aquaculture activities carried out in marine and inland waters and shall provide technical assistance for aquaculture activities in continental and marine waters.
