in the entirety of the text - Full Text of Norm 33487 Creates a Presidential Commission to advise and support the President of the Republic in decision-making and the development of the activities necessary for the launch of the “Peace with Nature” initiative Full Text of acta: A343B No. 33487 No. 33487 THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTER OF THE PRESIDENCY In exercise of their constitutional powers, provided for in Article 140 of the Political Constitution, and Articles 26, subsection g), 59, subsections 2) and 3), and 103, subsection 1) of the General Law of Public Administration, Law No. 6227 of May 2, 1978,
1.-That the Political Constitution establishes the State’s duty of environmental stewardship.
2.-That every day we witness the alarming degradation suffered by the Planet due to problems such as global warming, the disappearance and degradation of forests and biodiversity, the irrational and suicidal exploitation of marine resources, the deterioration of soils, and the accumulation of toxic and contaminating sources in all their elements.
3.-That the Planet is an ecosystem on whose ecological balances depends the life of all species, including the human species itself.
4.-That Costa Rica, together with all other countries of the world, is an interdependent part of this single planetary ecosystem, and therefore the decisions taken in each country have repercussions both within and beyond the geopolitical borders of States.
5.-That to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own, Costa Rica has been moving towards the adoption of an ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable development model, in accordance with the commitments and aspirations of the international community.
6.-That a priority of the Government is the defense of nature and the environment as a central axis of Costa Rican policy.
7.-That it is a priority of this Government to once again position Costa Rica as a moral power on the international stage, capable of convening the world in favor of the best causes such as peace, education, and human rights, with peace with nature being one of them.
8.-That Costa Rica, by reason of the credibility conferred upon it by history for its achievements in areas such as education, health, democracy, human rights, disarmament, and nature conservation, has the moral authority to assume an active leadership role internationally to promote greater political responsibility aimed at resolving the problems affecting the Planetary Ecosystem.
9.-That coherence must be maintained between the Government’s proposals and political action, at the national and international levels.
10.-That the country has assumed a commitment to the achievement of the Millennium Goals and to compliance with principles and obligations derived from the international legal framework.
11.-That the Government is promoting the “Consenso de Costa Rica” as one of the central axes of its foreign policy, and within this framework has decided to launch a global movement to declare active and perpetual peace with nature, which will bear the name “Paz con la Naturaleza”.
12.-That to carry forward this initiative, it is necessary to establish an adequate organizational framework. Therefore,

11.-Que el Gobierno está impulsando el "Consenso de Costa Rica" como uno de los ejes centrales de su política exterior, y en este marco ha decidido lanzar un movimiento mundial para declararle la paz activa y perpetua a la naturaleza, el cual llevará por nombre "Paz con la Naturaleza".
12.-Que para llevar adelante esta iniciativa se requiere establecer un marco de organización adecuado. Por tanto,
