IT IS AGREED:
1º-The importation of vessels for commercial longline fishing and shrimp fishing activities will be allowed, for the purpose of replacing vessels that hold valid fishing permits or licenses whose fishing gear is longline or trawl, as applicable, provided that the applicable legal provisions on the matter are complied with, under the following conditions:
2º-For the purposes of importation and replacement of vessels, the maximum increase in overall length (eslora) allowed per vessel must be respected, as stipulated in agreement AJDIP/08-97 of November 26, 1997, and its amendments, defined as fifty percent more overall length (eslora) of the vessel to be replaced, provided that the new vessel does not exceed 24 meters of overall length (eslora total lineal), as defined above.
3º-The replacement of wooden vessels whose measurement exceeds 24 meters of overall length (eslora total lineal), understood as the measurement taken from the stern to the bow in a straight line at its maximum measurement, will not be permitted.
4º-Any prior provision that contradicts this provision is hereby repealed.
5º-It becomes effective upon its approval. Let it be published.

CONSIDERANDO:

SE ACUERDA:
1º-Se permitirá la importación de embarcaciones para las actividades de pesca comercial con palangre y pesca de camarón, con el fin de sustituir embarcaciones que cuenten con permisos o licencias de pesca vigentes cuyas artes de pesca sea palangre o de arrastre, según corresponda, en el tanto se cumpla con las disposiciones legales aplicables en la materia bajo las siguientes condiciones:
2º-Para efectos de importación y sustitución de embarcaciones, deberá respetarse el aumento máximo de eslora permitido por embarcación según lo dispuesto en el acuerdo AJDIP/08-97 del 26 de noviembre de 1997 y sus reformas, definido en un cincuenta por ciento más de eslora de la embarcación a sustituir, siempre y cuando la nueva embarcación no supere los 24 metros de eslora total lineal, según se definió supra.
3º-No se permitirá la sustitución de embarcaciones de madera cuya medida supere los 24 metros de eslora total lineal entendiéndose esta como la medida que se hace desde la popa hasta la proa en línea recta en su medida superior.
4º-Deróguese toda disposición anterior que se contraponga a esta disposición.
5º-Rige a partir de su aprobación. Publíquese.
