Complementary Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica and the Government of the Republic of Colombia on Maritime Cooperation in the jurisdictional waters corresponding to each State for the Fight against Illicit Drug Trafficking, the Illegal Exploitation of Exclusive Economic Zones, and the Search and Rescue of Missing Vessels The Government of the Republic of Costa Rica and the Government of the Republic of Colombia, hereinafter referred to as the Parties; Encouraged by the great expectations of success through the collaboration of law enforcement and public force between the Parties for the search and rescue of missing vessels and for the control of unauthorized exploitation of the living and non-living resources of their jurisdictional seas, in accordance with the agreements signed between the parties; Encouraged by the excellent existing relationship between both peoples and their governments at all levels and specifically in the area of common security; Resolved to provide mutual cooperation in the fight against the illicit activities of trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances; Taking into account the provisions of the Technical and Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Costa Rica and the Republic of Colombia, signed in San Andrés, Colombia, on June 22, 1980, as well as the United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, signed in Vienna on December 20, 1988, in force between the parties; AGREE:
