Considering:
7554, published in La Gaceta No. 215 of 13 November 1995, establishes that the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) is the governing body in environmental matters and must therefore ensure the protection, conservation, and use of natural resources as an indispensable condition for sustainable economic development.
6084, Law of the National Parks Service, published in La Gaceta No. 169 of 7 September 1977, is part of the National System of Conservation Areas, as established in Law No. 7788, Biodiversity Law, published in La Gaceta No. 101 of 27 May 1998, a system through which the protection, conservation, control, and promotion of these protected areas is carried out due to their richness in wildlife species and forest cover (bosque forestal).
