According to the basic maps of the National Geographic Institute (Instituto Geográfico Nacional, IGN), topographic sheets Cañas, Tempisque, Talolinga, Abangares, at a scale of 1:50,000. Starting from a point located on the left bank of the Bebedero River channel, coordinates N 257420 and E 403780, the boundary continues along a public road through the following coordinate vertices:

After this last point, the boundary leaves the road to continue along the property boundary line, which is defined by the following coordinate vertices:

From this last point, it is located again on the aforementioned public road, the boundary continuing through a series of points whose coordinates are described below:

This last point is located at the end of the public access road to the Rancho Horizontes farm; from this point, the boundary continues along the public road to the bridge over the Quebrada La Mula, located at coordinates N 261707.52 E 394671.34, continues upstream along the left bank of the stream to a point on the Quebrada La Mula bordering Parcel 34 of the IDA's Tamarindo Settlement, whose coordinates are N 262856.04 E 393207.39; the boundary proceeds to another point at coordinates N 262977.91 E 393429.70, also bordering the same parcel of said Settlement. It continues to a point located on the public road at coordinates N 263233.48 E 393481.04, continuing along the public road, passing through the points at coordinates N 263526.75 E 393244.93 and N 264079.04 E 393342.95, to a point at coordinates N 264449.86 E 393725.48. From the previous point, it continues along the public road to the intersection of the road to Falconeana and Bagatzi at coordinates N 265934.70 E 394008.12, continues along the road to the intersection of the old road to San Ramón, at coordinates N 267166.30 E 394251.30, continuing along the boundary line of the Inversiones Campos Bastos S. A. farm until intersecting with the West Canal (Canal Oeste) Section 2, at coordinates N 267294.82 E 394276.73. The boundary continues from coordinates N 267354.86 E 394285.06, located on the right bank of the West Canal Section 2, proceeding in a straight line until intersecting the boundary of the Lomas Barbudal Biological Reserve at the point of coordinates N 267670.41, E 394350.61, located on the 60-meter curve above sea level. From that point, said curve delimits the park to the north up to the vertex at coordinates N 267598.69 E 393.547.12, which is also located on the 60-meter contour line above sea level, on the boundary with the Lomas Barbudal Biological Reserve. The boundary continues to the point at coordinates N 267392.85 E 393191.37, located on the right bank of the West Canal Section 2. The boundary continues from the point at coordinates N 267371.32 E 393132.59, located within the right-of-way of the West Canal, corresponding to the point where it intersects the road to Aguas Frías, continuing along that same road in a southeasterly direction to the intersection of the road to Parcelas Bagatzi at coordinates N 267268.23 E 393129.78, the boundary continues along the public road to the intersection of the public road, in Parcel 33 of the Bagatzi Protection Ring, at coordinates N 267141.47 E 393547.12, continues along the public road to Parcelas Bagatzi to the intersection with the road in front of Parcel 28 and Parcel 33, at coordinates N 266994.63 E 393413.45, continuing along the road to a point at coordinates N 266903.42 E 393686.42, proceeding along the road to a point in the Bagatzi Protection Ring, at coordinates N 266560.27 E 393406.31. From this last point, it continues along the drainage canal to the point at coordinates N 264587.57 E 392258.36, continues southwest along the boundary line between Parcels 10 and 11, to coordinates N 264420.84 E 392041.25, the boundary continues along the drainage canal to a point at coordinates N 264239.39 E 392210.96, continues then southwest between Parcels 15 and 16, to a point at coordinates N 263886.96 E 391838.40, the boundary proceeds along the drainage canal, parallel to the public road to Parcelas de Bagatzi, heading northwest, to a point at coordinates N 265944.26 E 389594.54, from this point it continues along the drainage canal for discharging water into the old channel of the Tempisque River, from the Parcels of the Bagatzi Settlement, to a point at coordinates N 265962.48 E 388723.52, continues along a drainage canal heading northwest to a point on the same canal at coordinates N 266830.88 E 388342.70, continues in a straight line heading northeast to a point on the public road connecting Bagatzi with San Ramón, at coordinates N 268718.45 E 390105.34, continues along the same road to a point at coordinates N 268646.94 E 390569.81, from this point it continues heading northeast to the West Canal Section 2, to coordinates N 268778.23 E 390610.12, continues along the West Canal to the intersection with the road to Parcelas Marañonal, at coordinates N 269836.03 E 388418.81, continues along the public road to the intersection with the Bagatzi – San Ramón road, at coordinates N 269773.96 E 388462.98, the boundary proceeds along the road to the intersection with the access road to Palo Verde National Park, at coordinates N 269748.12 E 388270.60, continues along the road heading southeast to a point at coordinates N 269031.11 E 388555.91.

From this point, the boundary continues through the following coordinate vertices:

From this last point, it continues to a point on the public road to Parcels of the Playitas Settlement, at coordinates N 267919.44 E 384876.38, continues along the road heading southwest to the end of the road, at coordinates N 267695.42 E 384812.36, the boundary continues through the following coordinate vertices:

From the previous coordinate, the boundary continues to a point on the public road from Playitas to Finca el Pelón de la Bajura, at coordinates N 267827.48 E 384196.17, continues along the same road to the old channel of the Tempisque River, at the point of coordinates N 267475.13 E 384194.74, from this point it continues along the river channel to the point of coordinates N 267500 E 385000, located on the left bank of the Tempisque River channel.

The boundary continues along this bank downstream to the confluence with the Bebedero River, at the point of coordinates N 248200 E 399730, situated on the left bank of the river. It continues along this bank of the Bebedero River, upstream, to the point of coordinates N 257420 E 403780, which is the starting point of this description. The islands of Saíno, Pájaros, and San Pablo, located in the Tempisque River, are considered part of the Palo Verde National Park.

a- A strip of land 60 meters wide where the West Canal Section 2 passes, and for the sole purpose of maintenance by SENARA, the area comprised and defined by the coordinate vertices:

b- A strip of land where the D2 drainage canal passes and for the sole purpose of maintenance by SENARA, in the area comprised within the boundaries defined by the coordinate vertices:

c- A strip of land where the drainage canal for discharging water from parcels of the Bagatzí Settlement into the old channel of the Tempisque River passes, for the sole purpose of maintenance by SENARA, comprised between the coordinates:

d- A strip of land 20 meters wide, where a drainage canal will pass to discharge water from the irrigation project of the Reajuste San Ramón Settlement, the construction and maintenance of which will be carried out by SENARA, comprised between the coordinate vertices:

This last point is located in the old channel of the Tempisque River.

e- A strip of land 20 meters wide, where a drainage canal will pass to discharge water from the irrigation project of the Playitas Settlement, the construction and maintenance of which will be carried out by SENARA, comprised between the coordinate vertices:

This last point is located in the Tempisque River channel.

f- A strip of land 20 meters wide, where a drainage canal will pass to discharge water from the irrigation project of the Playitas Settlement, the construction and maintenance of which will be carried out by SENARA, comprised between the coordinate vertices:

This last point is located in the Tempisque River channel.

Según los mapas básicos del Instituto Geográfico Nacional, Hojas cartográficas Cañas, Tempisque, Talolinga, Abangares, a escala 1:50.000. Partiendo de un punto ubicado en la margen izquierda del cauce del Río Bebedero coordenadas N 257420 y E 403780, continúa el límite por un camino público por los siguientes vértices de coordenadas:

Después de este último punto el límite deja el camino para continuar por el lindero de límite de propiedad, que se define por los siguientes vértices con coordenadas:

De este último punto se localiza nuevamente sobre el camino público antes mencionado, continuando el límite por una serie de puntos cuyas coordenadas se describen a continuación:

Este último punto se localiza en el final del camino público de acceso a la finca de Rancho Horizontes, de este punto el límite continúa por el camino público hasta el puente sobre la Quebrada La Mula, ubicado en las coordenadas N 261707.52 E 394671.34, continúa aguas arriba por la margen izquierda de la quebrada hasta un punto sobre la Quebrada La Mula colindancia con la Parcela 34 del Asentamiento Tamarindo del IDA, cuyas coordenadas son N 262856.04 E 393207.39, el límite prosigue hasta otro punto de coordenadas N 262977.91 E 393429.70, también con la colindancia de la misma parcela de dicho Asentamiento. Continúa hasta un punto ubicado en el camino público de coordenadas N 263233.48 E 393481.04, prosiguiendo por el camino público, pasando por los puntos de coordenadas N 263526.75 E 393244.93 y N 264079.04 E 393342.95, hasta un punto de coordenadas N 264449.86 E 393725.48. Del punto anterior se continúa sobre el camino público hasta la intersección de camino a Falconeana y Bagatzi de coordenadas N 265934.70 E 394008.12, continúa por el camino hasta intersección del camino viejo a San Ramón, de coordenadas N 267166.30 E 394251.30, se continúa sobre el lindero de la finca Inversiones Campos Bastos S. A. hasta interceptarse con el Canal Oeste Tramo 2, de coordenadas N 267294.82 E 394276.73. El límite continúa a partir de la coordenadas N 267354.86 E 394285.06, ubicado en la margen derecha del Canal Oeste Tramo 2, prosiguiendo en línea recta hasta interceptar con el límite de la Reserva Biológica Lomas Barbudal en el punto de coordenadas N 267670.41, E 394350.61, ubicado en la curva de 60 metros sobre el nivel del mar. A partir de ese punto, dicha curva delimita el parque por el norte hasta el vértice de coordenadas N 267598.69 E 393.547.12 que también se encuentra en la cota de nivel de los 60 metros sobre el nivel del mar, en el límite con la Reserva Biológica Lomas Barbudal. Continúa el límite hasta el punto de coordenadas N 267392.85 E 393191.37, ubicado en la margen derecha del Canal Oeste Tramo 2. El límite continúa del punto de coordenadas N 267371.32 E 393132.59 ubicado en el derecho de vía del Canal Oeste, correspondiente al punto donde intercepta con el camino a Aguas Frías, continua sobre ese mismo camino con rumbo Sureste hasta la intersección del camino a Parcelas Bagatzi de coordenadas N 267268.23 E 393129.78, el límite prosigue por el camino público hasta la intersección del camino público , en la Parcela 33 del Anillo de Protección Bagatzi de coordenadas N 267141.47 E 393547.12, continúa sobre el camino público a Parcelas Bagatzi hasta la intersección con el camino frente a la Parcela 28 y Parcela 33, de coordenadas N 266994.63 E 393413.45 , se continúa sobre el camino hasta un punto de coordenadas N 266903.42 E 393686.42, se prosigue por el camino hasta un punto en el Anillo de Protección Bagatzi, de coordenadas N 266560.27 E 393406.31. El límite continúa por los vértices del Anillo de Protección correspondientes a las coordenadas:

De este último punto se continúa por el canal de drenaje hasta el punto de coordenadas N 264587.57 E 392258.36, se continúa con rumbo suroeste por el lindero entre las Parcelas 10 y 11, hasta las coordenadas N 264420.84 E 392041.25, continúa el límite sobre el canal de drenaje hasta un punto de coordenadas N 264239.39 E 392210.96, continúa luego con rumbo suroeste entre las Parcelas 15 y 16, hasta un punto de coordenadas N 263886.96 E 391838.40, el límite prosigue por el canal de drenaje, paralelo al camino público a Parcelas de Bagatzi, con rumbo noroeste, hasta un punto de coordenadas N 265944.26 E 389594.54, a partir de este punto se continúa sobre el canal de drenaje de desfogue de aguas al cauce viejo del Río Tempisque, de las Parcelas del Asentamiento de Bagatzi, hasta un punto de coordenadas N 265962.48 E 388723.52, se continúa por un canal de drenaje con rumbo noroeste hasta un punto sobre el mismo canal de coordenadas N 266830.88 E 388342.70, se continúa en línea recta con rumbo noreste hasta un punto sobre el camino público que comunica a Bagatzi con San Ramón, de coordenadas N 268718.45 E 390105.34, se continúa sobre el mismo camino hasta un punto de coordenadas N 268646.94 E 390569.81, de este punto se continúa con rumbo noreste hasta el Canal del Oeste Tramo 2, hasta las coordenadas N 268778.23 E 390610.12, se continúa por el Canal del Oeste hasta la intersección con el camino a Parcelas Marañonal, de coordenadas N 269836.03 E 388418.81, continúa por el camino público hasta la intersección con el camino Bagatzi – San Ramón, de coordenadas N 269773.96 E 388462.98, el límite prosigue por el camino hasta la intersección con el camino de acceso al Parque Nacional Palo Verde, de coordenadas N 269748.12 E 388270.60, se continúa por el camino con rumbo sureste hasta un punto de coordenadas N 269031.11 E 388555.91.

De este punto se continúa el límite por los siguientes vértices de coordenadas

De este último punto se continúa hasta un punto sobre el camino público a Parcelas del Asentamiento Playitas, de coordenadas N 267919.44 E 384876.38, continúa por el camino con rumbo suroeste hasta el final del camino, de coordenadas N 267695.42 E 384812.36, el límite continúa por los siguientes vértices de coordenadas

De la coordenada anterior el límite continúa hasta un punto sobre el camino público de Playitas a Finca el Pelón de la Bajura, de coordenadas N 267827.48 E 384196.17, se continúa sobre el mismo camino hasta el cauce viejo del Río Tempisque, en el punto de coordenadas N 267475.13 E 384194.74, de este punto se continúa sobre el cauce del río hasta el punto de coordenadas N 267500 E 385000, localizado en la margen izquierda del cauce del río Tempisque.

El límite continúa por esta margen aguas abajo hasta la confluencia con el río Bebedero, en el punto de coordenadas N 248200 E 399730, situado en la margen izquierda del río. Continúa por esta margen del río Bebedero, aguas arriba hasta el punto de coordenadas N 257420 E 403780 que es el punto de partida de la presente descripción. Las islas de Saíno, Pájaros y San Pablo localizadas en el río Tempisque, se consideran como parte del Parque Nacional Palo Verde.

a- Una franja de terreno de 60 metros de ancho por donde pasa el Canal Oeste Tramo 2, y con el único fin de darle mantenimiento por parte de SENARA, el área comprendida y definidas por los vértices de coordenadas:

b- Una franja de terreno por donde pasa el canal de drenaje D2 y con el único fin de darle mantenimiento por parte de SENARA, en el área comprendida dentro de los límites definidos por los vértices de coordenadas:

c- Una franja de terreno por donde pasa el canal de drenaje de desfogue de parcelas del Asentamiento Bagatzí, al cauce viejo del río Tempisque, con el único fin de darle mantenimiento por parte de SENARA, comprendido entre las coordenadas:

d- Una franja de terreno de 20 metros de ancho, por donde pasará un canal de drenaje para desfogar aguas del proyecto de riego del Asentamiento Reajuste San Ramón, cuya construcción y mantenimiento lo realizará SENARA, comprendido entre los vértices de coordenadas:

Este último punto se ubica en el cauce viejo del río Tempisque.

e- Una franja de terreno de 20 metros de ancho, por donde pasará un canal de drenaje para desfogar aguas del proyecto de riego del Asentamiento Playitas, cuya construcción y mantenimiento lo realizará SENARA, comprendido entre los vértices de coordenadas:

Este último punto se encuentra ubicado en el cauce del río Tempisque.

f- Una franja de terreno de 20 metros de ancho, por donde pasará un canal de drenaje para desfogar aguas del proyecto de riego del Asentamiento Playitas, cuya construcción y mantenimiento lo realizará SENARA, comprendido entre los vértices de coordenadas:

Este último punto se encuentra ubicado en el cauce del río Tempisque.
