5.2. La Amistad Pacífico Conservation Area 5.2.1. Buenos Aires Subregion 5.2.1.1. Protection Criteria a. Sector: Fila Brunqueña (Colinas, Pilas, Jalisco, Cedral), Boruca, Térraba and Rey Curré Indigenous Reserves, Changuena (Congo, Paraíso, Cantú).
Criterion:
Establishment of biological corridors. Connection of Fila Costeña to Cerro Paraguas.
b. Sector: Basin of the rivers: Sonador, Volcán. Convento, Cacao, Angel, Cañas, Ceibo, Singri, Sarai, Platanares, Mosca, Cabagra, Piedra, Guineal, Platanillal, Limoncito.
Criterion:
Protection of water resources.
c. Sector: Ujarrás, Salitre, Cabagra, Térraba, Boruca, Rey Curré Indigenous Reserves.
Criterion:
Biodiversity and Indigenous Reserves.
d. Sector: Sectors of the buffer zone of Pila (part of the Biolley district, Buenos Aires, Volcán). Includes the Ujarrás, Salitre and Cabagra Indigenous Reserve, district of Potrero Grande.
Criterion:
Privately owned lands, located within protected wilderness areas and adjacent areas.
e. Sector: Sector of the buffer zone of the La Amistad International Park, upper part of Cordoncillo de Talamanca, Cabagra and Salitre Indigenous Reserve.
Criterion:
Forestry-suitable lands at high risk of forest fires.
f. Sector: Ujarrás, Salitre and Cabagra Indigenous Reserve, Tres Colinas, Buenos Aires, upper part of Volcán, Changuena.
Criterion:
Land-use capacity class VI, VII and VIII, with evident signs of degradation.
g. Sector: Upper part of the Ceibo River, Volcán River area.
Criterion:
Zones of archaeological interest against hydrometeorological threats.
5.2.1.2. Reforestation Criteria a. Sector: A) Potrero Grande (Los Angeles, La Puna, Pueblo Nuevo, El Jorón, Javillo and Potrero Grande). B) Buenos Aires (Bolas, Ceibo Buenos Aires). C) Volcán (Cordoncillo, Santa Marta and San Rafael, Volcán).
Criterion:
Concentration of reforestation blocks.
b. Sector: Potrero Grande, Changuena, Volcán Buenos Aires, Pilas and Colinas.
Criterion:
· Areas devoid of forest cover (cobertura boscosa).
· Lands with forestry potential
