in the entirety of the text - Complete Text of Norm 30223 Declares April 1st of each year as Costa Rican Aquaculturist Day Complete Text file: 49D73 Nº 30223-MAG Nº 30223-MAG THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK In exercise of the powers established in subsections 3) and 18) of article 140 of the Political Constitution, Law Nº 7384 of March 16, 1994, and Law Nº 7064 of April 29, 1987.
1st—That fishing activity is one of the economic activities that generates significant foreign exchange income for the country and, in specific areas, constitutes a fundamental pillar in socioeconomic development, generating employment and a means of subsistence and producing wealth for countless families.
2nd—That within the development of said activity, aquaculture has become a vitally important alternative for the promotion of rural development, as a source of production of hydrobiological resources, which harmonizes the existence of products with their sustainable and sustained use.
3rd—That aquaculture activity is an important alternative for national producers, within a concept of development integrated with agriculture and livestock activity.
4th—That in accordance with the regulations established in Law Nº 7384, it is necessary to stimulate and promote the development of aquaculture activity and of the persons dedicated to the search for new perspectives and solutions in the production and utilization of hydrobiological resources.
5th—That for the reasons indicated, it is appropriate to establish the celebration of Costa Rican Aquaculturist Day. Therefore; They decree:
