"Article 1-.
40. Veterinary Regent (Regente Veterinario): Veterinary Doctor (Médico Veterinario) duly registered with the College of Veterinary Doctors, recognized by the MAG, and registered in the Program as the professional responsible for an approved establishment.
46. Official Veterinarian (Veterinario Oficial): Veterinary Doctor appointed by the MAG or officially designated as such by it as Veterinary Regent, through the respective accreditation procedure, for an approved establishment." "Article 8-The Veterinary Inspection of Fishery Products shall be carried out by the Veterinary Doctors appointed by the MAG or officially designated by it, who are duly registered in the Program as veterinary regents (regentes veterinarios) of an approved establishment." "Article 10.-Every exporting plant, to be approved, must contract and have, during processing operations, the services of a veterinary regent (regente veterinario), who must complete the registration procedures with the MAG and shall be the responsible professional in charge of complying with the provisions established in this Regulation and related regulations and with the instructions issued by the Program. In the event of temporary absence, such as vacation or disability of the veterinary regent, they must be replaced for the necessary time by a veterinary doctor approved by the Program Chief." "Article 11.-The Veterinary Inspection carried out by the veterinary regent must be performed in strict compliance with this Regulation and in coordination with the MAG's Fishery Products Inspection Program. In the event of conflict or divergent criteria, what is resolved or indicated by the Program Chief shall prevail." "Article 16.-For a Veterinary Regent to be registered and officially designated to carry out inspection in a specific establishment, they must meet the requirements established by the Program regarding credentials, suitability, and required documentation." "Article 17.-The MAG may, by reasoned communication, suspend for up to one year or definitively cancel the registration or authorization and consequently the official designation of a veterinary regent and/or their assistant, for violations or non-compliance with the provisions established in this Regulation or those issued by the Program, or for loss of the conditions of suitability necessary for the performance of their duties, or communication of disciplinary sanctions by the College of Veterinary Doctors, which shall be communicated to the corresponding establishment for the pertinent purposes." "Article 79.-The Veterinary Export Certificates for Inspected and approved Products may only be issued by veterinary doctors from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock or officially designated by it. The certificates must be issued at the time the products leave the establishment; if they are not issued at that time, they may only be issued later, after identifying and re-inspecting them."
