The summary must include:
- Number of trees per species that will be harvested (aprovecharse) with the corresponding minimum cutting diameters (diámetros mínimos de corta).
- List of the number of Seed Trees (Árboles Portagranos), ST, per species.
- Cutting cycle (Ciclo de corta).
- Proportion of main roads and skid trails (pistas de arrastre), expressed in linear meters per type of road, per hectare of forest.
- Relevant aspects specific to the particular forest that affect sustainability (sostenibilidad) or that offer a sustainable non-timber production alternative.
Management decisions must be based on an inventory with a sampling error, with respect to the basal area, less than or equal to 20%.
Species that do not appear in the inventory may not be harvested (aprovecharse).
Species whose frequency is less than 0.3 trees per hectare shall be considered scarce or infrequent and shall not be harvested (aprovecharse).
In no case may the harvesting (aprovechamiento) of a given species exceed 60% (sixty percent) of the commercial volume determined in the census for diameters starting at 60 cm DBH (DAP).
Based on the topographical map, the works that guarantee that no waterway is obstructed due to the harvesting (aprovechamiento) must be designed.
The planned log landing (patios) area may not exceed 0.5% (half a percentage point) of the productive forest area.
The planned primary road area may not exceed 2% of the productive forest area, their width must be less than 6m and the maximum slope on a loaded trip shall be 30% (thirty percent).
The planned skid trail (pistas de arrastre) area may not exceed 6% (six percent) of the productive forest area, the width must be less than 4 m and the maximum slope shall be 35% (thirty-five percent).
The cutting cycle (ciclo de corta) may not be less than 20 years. In the case of forests that have been harvested (aprovechados), a new intervention cannot be carried out before that period has elapsed.
Silvicultural treatments must be oriented towards stimulating the establishment of regeneration and the growth of the remaining mass without altering the uneven-aged structure of the forest.
