The tolerance, more or less, in the weight of the coin shall be sixteen grams per thousand coins.
The coins shall bear engraved on the obverse the national coat of arms, with the legend Republic of Costa Rica and the year of minting. On the reverse, they shall have stamped two intertwined coffee branches; in the center of these, the value of the coin expressed in numbers; in the upper part, the legend Central America; and in the lower part, the initials B. N. C. R., of the National Bank of Costa Rica; the first two on the left side, and the others on the right side of each coin.
